The Settlers

  1. Developer: Ubisoft Blue Byte
  2. Platform: PC
  3. Release date: officially unknown, but 2022 seems likely
  4. What is it: an economic strategy in which we will lead a settlement and be responsible for its development

The Settlers is another return of an IP that defined the RTS genre at one point in history. Unfortunately, it has become slightly rusty as of late. After all, the last full-fledged installment of this series was released 12 years ago. The upcoming production, however, might restore its splendor, and at the same time constitute a new opening, symbolized by the lack of a number next to the title.

At the same time, the game is supposed to be a kind of return to the roots. Developers admitted that while working on The Settlers, they did not want to dig too deep into the proven formula. Instead, they were inspired by classic installments of the series. Their fans should therefore immediately feel at home in the upcoming title, which will primarily focus on peaceful expansion of our settlement.

This doesn't mean, however, that the game will be completely devoid of novelty. This includes, among others, new units and special locations on the maps, which will guarantee useful bonuses if captured. The upcoming Settlers will also feature a multiplayer mode. Solo fans will be able to engage in campaigns and battles against artificial intelligence.
