  4. What is it: the spiritual heir to Heroes of Might and Magic, made by fans of the genre

Songs of Conquest is one of the most anticipated games of this year in our books. If you're a fan of the legendary strategy series, you will certainly be interested. The production of Lavapotion studio may turn out to be the best Heroes of Might and Magic since the cult part three of that series.

Developers admitted that when creating Songs of Conquest, they were inspired primarily by older versions of the popular series (Heroes of Might and Magic 2 in particular). They're fans themselves, so they're aware of the strongest suits of this genre. In the game, we will have to fight numerous battles, expand cities and explore maps full of threats and artifacts. In addition, we will have access to several campaigns, an editor, and multiplayer modes.

The creators aren't afraid to make bold creative decisions. In their latest work, for example, the terrain will play a crucial role, which will affect the outcome of skirmishes. The development of fortresses will also be more complex. In Songs of Conquest we'll find a lot of buildings, the construction of which will come at the cost of other improvements. To top things off, we'll get a beautiful visual setting and an atmospheric soundtrack.
