Paradox is famous for providing exceptional support to their games long after release, constantly developing their mechanics and various aspects. On the one hand, it's commendable, but on the other, when buying one of their games, you have to take into account that it's just the beginning of your expenses. Stellaris, for example, is getting the eleventh expansion!
What else did you expect from Paradox?
Stellaris: First Contact introduces three new geneses and new, low-tech ethics. The observation system was also revamped, using espionage, diplomacy and the consciousness of a given civilization. The DLC also offers a new masking technology.
