Will adventure games be alright after all?
I was accused of erring – and rightly so. I was convinced that the adventure game market was dying, but turns out I was wrong – these games still come out, and in large numbers. They aren't too sexy a subject for the media, so there's even more reason to write about them. In November, we will play a creation such as Pentiment, a visual marvel based on illuminated manuscripts, or woodcuts.
Extraordinary design
Pentiment takes us to sixteenth-century Germany, when social unrest in the country was high. As Andreas Maler, we will have to solve a murder case that has been dragging on for 25 years. As part of the investigation, we will question people we come across and then make decisions. Finally, we will have to face the consequences and see if we will have made the right choices.
