What is The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle?

The ninth major (and thirty-third overall) addition to the fourth installment of The Sims series. This time, the creators from the EA Maxis studio give us a DLC focused on living an ecologically-conscious life and reducing (or increasing) the pollution on the environment. The extension requires the core version of The Sims 4.

What's new in Eco Life?

The expansion takes us to the extremely polluted Evergreen Marina. By pursuing the ambitious green projects, participating in local votes and encouraging neighbors to recycle, we will gradually turn dirty streets and smog into an oasis of fresh air and greenery. In addition to macro-scale activities, the expansion will also focus on ecology in the daily life of sims – new activities and items will enable the production of organic food, recycling of garbage, and greater control over the pollution.

  1. There's More to The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle than Sexy Times in Dumpsters
  2. More about The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle

To be honest, when news broke about Eco Lifestyle, I was skeptical – I imagined another mediocre addition (which I would buy anyway), but nothing special. It seemed that the only exciting part of the future of the series would be The Sims 5. I was fortunately wrong! In June, we will get a DLC that engages and introduces a lot of new things. I've been lucky enough to play the alpha version and it obviously wasn't flawless. The biggest flaws, however, stemmed from Maxis' questionable decisions taken during the creating the core game – and the aftermath of these is still apparent. Well, what can you do? Less interactions with the environment will be compensated for with sex in dumpsters, some fine furniture, decorations, and windows. The very process of thinking about all that makes me want to throw everything and go to Evergreen Harbor to refurnish it, make it green, and grind on the content until the machine breaks! Until June 5th!
