Games You Have Probably Missed in the First Half of 2020

Panzer Corps 2

  1. Genre: turn-based strategy
  2. Developer: Flashback Games
  3. Platforms: PC

Although Panzer Corps 2 is a direct sequel to the 2011's game, there is a strong sense of the spirit of the original, which is still known from the 1990s' Panzer General series. So here we have a classical map divided into hexagonal fields and a turn-based combat system. The switch to the Unreal 4 engine added the third dimension to the traditional view and allowed a large number of units to be displayed at once while maintaining simplicity and legibility.

Unlike the visuals, the gameplay mechanics are based on the same proven core, being more an evolution of the genre than a revolution. The game features about 60 battle scenarios from World War II, played on every major side of the conflict, and the developers boast of recreating over a thousand unique models of combat units. In addition to the basic content, there is also a comprehensive scenario editor and the multiplayer mode in several different forms (including even in e-mail form!).
