Marvel Snap isn't an indie game that was made on a budget. This is a real double-A superhero who can make the player euphoric with one flutter of wings. The whole match is contained in... just three minutes.
It's been a long time since there was such a fast and original card game on the market. We can build a deck from a huge number of heroes, strengthen them as the game progresses and fight dynamic, spectacular duels. My guess is that the writers of Marvel's other mobile smash hit, Marvel Strike Force, may be feeling uneasy. I suspect an imminent exodus of players to a game that doesn't take so much time, while giving similar fun.
The market of mobile Marvel games has been full for a long time. Releasing each new product here (or at least agreeing to it, because in theory Marvel had little to do with either the development or the release of Snap) entails a lot of risk. Winning fans right after launch can be deceptive because of the novelty factors; maintaining their interest for longer is the tricky part. In the case of Marvel Snap , however, there is probably nothing to worry about – this game is so original that it can attract even players who have so far shunned mobile games.
