Souls-like Games Rated Easiest to Hardest

The Dark Souls series is famous for its hellishly high difficulty, which requires, above all, patience. Games inspired by Dark Souls are trying to emulate that, with various results. Here's our list rating souls-like games from easiest to hardest.

Table of Contents

2. Dark Souls

The following page contains:

  1. Release date: September 24, 2011
  2. Platforms: PS3, X360, PC (original version), PS4, XOne, Switch (remaster)
  3. Developer: FromSoftware
  4. Publisher: Bandai Namco Entertainment

Dark Souls was the first exposure to the genre and probably the most difficult game in the entire lives of many players. I am sort of among them; the original product of the cooperation between FromSoftware and Bandai Namco is difficult even today, almost a decade after the original release. Dark Souls was, and still is, a game that brutally dismisses the people who ignore its systems.

On top of that, compared to Demon's Souls, fewer bosses can be defeated with exploits. If we had included the Artorias of the Abyss expansion, where we fought Kalameet and Manus, the production could have jumped to the first place in the list.

1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

  1. Release date: March 22, 2019
  2. Platforms: PS4, PC, XOne
  3. Developer: FromSoftware
  4. Publisher: Activision Blizzard

I suspect that many people will struggle to agree with the first place of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In my opinion, however, this is by far the most difficult game offered by the genre. The combat system, which focuses on parrying, has always been a problem for me. This makes this title a much more serious challenge for me than for other players.

Even the increased dynamics of battles reminiscent of regular slashers isn't as much of a problem for me (especially after playing NiOh) as this darn pairing. Additionally, I have a feeling that FromSoftware strongly increased the difficulty of the bosses. So, Sekiro definitely claims the title of most difficult souls-like game in my books. .

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I am a fan of soulslike games. My adventure began years ago with Demon's Souls on the PlayStation 3, which I loved after a brief period of hatred directed towards Something Unknown. The next step turned me towards the Dark Souls series, and then I started checking out other series in this genre, looking for something that would engage me in the same way as FromSoftware's games. I settled on the Nioh series, which I love with all my heart.

I devote my free time to discussing the games I play - with a focus on niche productions.

He hasn't yet written a text that he would be 100% satisfied with. He started his adventure with games at the age of 3, when he managed to convince his father to buy a C64 computer. The love for electronic entertainment awakened by Flimbo's Quest blossomed during the first adventures with Heroes of Might & Magic, reaching its peak after purchasing the first PlayStation. As he grew older, he had more encounters with Nintendo portable consoles, and also returned to the PC as an additional gaming platform. He collects games and is a fan of emulation.
