Space Games to Play Waiting for Starfield

Science fiction is a boundless field for developers to come up with engaging stories supported by ingenious technologies. In games, we have already experienced more than one such epic adventure in space - here are the most interesting ones.

Darkness vs. Light

A mysterious spherical object called the Traveler arrives near Earth somewhere in the late 21st century. He shares with people extraordinary knowledge and technologies that make our civilization flourish beyond all measure. But then comes the mystical Darkness - the eternal enemy of the Traveler, who, by the way, brings about the annihilation of almost our entire race. In a final act of desperation, the mysterious Traveler sacrifices himself to drive away the Darkness and save the remnants of the remaining survivors, creating Ghosts in the process. These small objects filled with Light, or the power of the Traveler, were designed to resurrect fallen warriors so that they, as reborn Guardians, could continue the fight against the Darkness.

Weakened after such a powerful blow, the human outposts on various planets became the target of attack by other space races. First there was the invasion of the Fallen pirates, then the mighty Cabals, and finally the devastating battle for the Moon with the ancient Hive and their prince Crota, always a servant of the Darkness. As if that wasn't enough, people were still traditionally embroiled in internal disputes and conflicts, and all this was happening in the face of another threat of attack by the Darkness itself.

"I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain."

Yes, Bungie has done it again! It has created a remarkable, complex and thoughtful story covering 800 years of detailed events, only that.... failed to present it in an attractive way in the game itself. The quote used here from one of the heroines of the first part of Destiny is probably the authors' mischievous way of expressing their powerlessness. Indeed, the game's production was quite turbulent and the final version deviated sharply from what Bungie had planned at the beginning.

However, if someone took the trouble to research the available information and put it all together, Destiny turned out to be a fascinating universe, in which every character, every name heard in the plot, such as Rasputin, Osiris, the Iron Lords, had an extremely long, detailed and, above all, engaging story. At the time, there was a completely different approach to the main characters of the story - Zavala, Ikora, Cayde-6, Eris and others, who may not have gained the same status as Master Chief, but are immediately associated with the brand.

Bungie also once again broke the bank with gameplay mechanics, with the addition of extremely challenging co-op to the FPP shooter's brilliant console control system. The six-player raids in Destiny were co-op on a whole other level. Instead of trivial bullet sponges, in this game we got bosses, each of which is a complex environmental puzzle - and its solution turns out to be possible only with perfect coordination and communication of all team members. Completing a rally resembles a choreographed dance routine, in which everyone has to execute their steps perfectly every second. If someone found a gaming team and got sucked into Destiny, they usually stayed with the universe for hundreds or even thousands of hours.
