Another seasonal sale – I’d hate to miss it!

The stereotype says that women are shopaholic and store ridiculous amounts of clothes (or shoes) "for every occasion". In the end they hardly ever wear any of these items. Meanwhile, I'm looking at my library of over 800 games on Steam, 200 titles on PlayStation Store, several hundred console retail box editions and countless other types of video games. Most titles of this collection, have never been launched even once and, let's not fool ourselves, will never be launched at all. I look at them and I think that I might have a bigger problem than a few extra pairs of shoes.

This new type of gameaholism affects most of us, gamers. We accumulate games in tremendous quantities, because we can't resist Steam sales, especially when some AAA titles can be bought for just a few bucks and are cheaper by 80%. In other cases, we can support charities, buy something due to overwhelming hype or even decide to purchase a humble bundle because it contains new character skins as a gift pack.

The problem is that we forget to ask ourselves this one simple question: "Will I find time to play this title even in the next twelve months?". Better ask yourself that question before you buy a new game. Oh, and what's that e-mail I've just received? "An item /game on your Steam wishlist is on sale!" Great, I guess I haven't bought anything in a week!

In games, he primarily looks for stories, emotions, and immersion that no other medium can provide - hence, among his favorite titles, are games focusing on narration. Believes that NieR: Automata is the best game ever made.
