You play as a lone astronaut called Harrison, whose ship malfunctions badly. Harrison leaves the ship and has to continue his journey on his own. He has to face many dangers, such as a previously unknown civilization. Lost Orbit can be called a vertical platformer, since you move toward the top of the screen. You move mostly by using the gravitational forces of the planetoids you pass by, which makes your character shooting like a bullet in the chosen direction. Harrison can use a jetpack, although he hasn't got much fuel, which restricts its use mostly to correcting his trajectory.

An RPG text adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world, designed by the creators of the MISERY mod for the video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. The action of the game takes place on the territory of today’s Russia, now a country devastated by an ecological cataclysm that wiped most of humanity out of the face of Earth. During the game, the player gets to discover the true reasons behind the cataclysm and attempts to help in rebuilding the human civilization. In The Seed, the events are presented to players in the form of a text and it is up to the player to decide on the main protagonist’s actions - the history branches off and leads to one of over a dozen possible endings. Simultaneously, the gameplay revolves around RPG mechanics, thus the main protagonist exhibits a set of features, acquires useful pieces of gear, and interacts with other characters. Moreover, The Seed delivers some survival elements – one has to gather provisions, deal with various diseases, and avoid areas with high levels of radiation. The audiovisuals are enriched with animated sequences and sound effects.

A mix of several genres: survival sandbox, action RPG, and roguelike. Proven Lands was developed by a few independent developers known as thesetales. The player assumes control of a crew member whose spaceship had crashed on an uncharted planet. Separated from the rest of the crew, the hero has to survive on his own by gathering resources and supplies, hunting wild animals, crafting tools and building shelter. Interestingly enough, once we’ve managed to reach the necessary tech level, we can embark on a journey through the galaxy, encountering alien planets and races, as well as developing our character by choosing one of the available character classes. All of the game’s contents, including explored worlds, found items, encountered characters, or assigned quests are procedurally generated and directed by an AI game master. Aside from the sandbox mode, the authors prepared an extensive single-player campaign which develops the aforementioned story of the crashed spaceship and its stranded crew. The game is characteristic for its appealing visuals – the game is powered by Unity engine.

A tactical strategy with RPG elements taking place in a science-fiction universe. The Red Solstice is oriented mainly towards multiplayer cooperation matches. The game is inspired by classics such as StarCraft, X-COM, or Warhammer 40,000, and was developed by independent Croatian studio Ironward. The action of the game takes place in the distant future, where Earth's population was decimated as a result of a deadly virus, and Mars became a home for the remnants of humanity. An elite marine squad defending the local colonies has to face not only hordes of monsters, but also a powerful space storm. Both single and multiplayer modes received a story campaign. The single player campaign offers 14 missions divided into two subplots. The plot of the multiplayer follows two separated marine squads, while the gameplay is focused around cooperation of 8-man teams. The game offers 8 character classes and randomly generated locations, helping to deal with repetitiveness and weariness ensuing from having to play through the same sequences.

The second DLC for 2013's Total War: Rome II (Creative Assembly). The second Punic war is the general theme of the expansion; the conflict between Rome and Carthage took place in the third century BC. Importantly, the war was also a conflict of two outstanding commanders - Scipio Africanus and Hannibal, a sworn enemy of Rome. The expansion brings a new campaign which is set in the western part of the mediterranean basin, in the years 218-202 BC (each year lasts 12 turns). The new map is smaller, but more detailed than in the core game; it comprises 19 provinces in total. Apart from the two main factions, the DLC also offers Syracuse, as well as Iberian tribes - the Arevaci and Lusitani. All of these factions were given their own combat units and technology trees. Additionally, both Rome and Carthage have an additional branch of development, which focuses on diplomacy.
