The 12th entry in the popular baseball simulator series developed for PlayStation consoles by SIE San Diego. Similarly to the previous installments, MLB: The Show 17 uses the Major League Baseball license which includes numerous professional baseball teams from both USA and Canada, along with their rosters. As always, we are dealing with an extensive baseball simulator with numerous managerial features. The game offers a wide range of game modes, from single matches up to whole seasons. The campaign sees us lead the chosen team, not only during the games, but also deciding upon the choice of players, their training, and transfers. Similarly to the previous years, the player database is updated on-the-fly through a continuous connection with MLB 2017/2018 season servers. The biggest novelty of MLB: The Show 17 is the Retro mode, introducing a gameplay inspired by baseball titles from 8 and 16 bit consoles. Moreover, we are given a number of multiplayer modes.

Heavy Metal Machines is a fast-paced FREE TO PLAY Car Battle MOBA that combines unique gameplay on a post-apocalyptic world of Heavy Metal. Action in Heavy Metal Machines is presented from an isometric point of view and each player controls a single car. Team bases are located on the opposing sides of the map. The team that manages to deliver a bomb to the opponent’s base and destroy it, wins. There is only one bomb, so players have to fight for it (like for a ball during a football match). Heavy Metal Machines offers many characters, each of them having a unique vehicle with special abilities. Cooperation between the players is very important in Heavy Metal Machines. There are three roles the players can take: transporting the bomb to the opponent's base, intercepting enemies, or supporting their own team (by repairing their cars or interrupting their opponents). These roles are not assigned to any character, but the characteristics of particular cars can make some of them much easier.

A turn-based strategy game with card game features. The title was developed by Spiritwalk Games. The player is taken to a fantasy world that was almost completely destroyed by a magic disaster. All that remained of the world are islands floating above the center of the planet. Above the islands there are shards of the old realm – when one of them falls to the ground, humans gain access to ancient treasures and artifacts. The players assume the role of scouts who try to take advantage of these opportunities to gain riches and fame. The gameplay in Shardbound focuses on battles fought with manually composed deck of cards. The cards enable the player to summon units and activate various spells. After playing a card, a warrior appears on the battlefield. He is controlled like in classic strategy games. The victory is determined by the battle potential of units, shape of the territory and obstacles on the map. The title was developed with multiplayer battles in mind and it is fully integrated with Twitch. This enables the players to watch and stream PvP duels, sign in for matches with famous streamers, send them decks for review, participate in special tournaments and help player’s idols in conquering territories.

Victor Vran: Fractured Worlds is an expansion pack to the 2015 hack'n'slash game Victor Vran that was developed by Haemimont Games. It requires the base game to be playable. In Fractured Worlds, the titular monster hunter is moved to a realm that was born as a result of the collision of a couple of fractured worlds. His job is to find all the pieces of the Astrolabe, an artifact that can change our hero's destiny. Fractured Worlds doesn't introduce any new gameplay mechanics. Just like in the base game, we will explore a new world and eliminate hordes of enemies that stand in our way. The expansion, however, offers a completely new story campaign with four enormous dungeons that change their layout on a daily basis and an endless dungeon known as Fracture. Fractured Worlds increases the game's level cap and adds additional space for destiny cards and some special talismans that, after being fully charged, can be activated to execute powerful special attacks.

A tactical RPG, combining turn-based combat and real-time exploration. Developed by a Russian independent studio – Double Dice Games, the game takes players on a journey to a fantastical realm inspired by Arthurian Legends. Enchanted forests and snow-covered mountain peaks – this is the path taken by our team comprising Arthur – a fearless warrior, who wields the magical sword he previously drew from a stone, Ginevra – an expert witch, Idril – an elvish archer, and Kerdick – a muscular dwarf. The protagonists embark on a quest to save the world from an inevitable doom that might be caused by the wars waged by the local gods, and the secretive actions of conspirators trying to restore the power of an ancient evil. Our fellowship has to face numerous foes – from large spiders and skeletons to goblin bands and trolls. The battles feature a turn-based system. The key to victory lies in a good utilization of the characters’ features, their special skills, and items. Additional pieces of equipment can be acquired by looting fallen enemies and using the crafting system, which allows the players to combine gathered ingredients to create useful items. The visuals feature a warm and merry color scheme, which perfectly corresponds with the light and fairy-tale-like game setting.

The game offers a wide array of weaponry for our hero, such as axes, bombs, bows, crossbows, or fancy and elaborate traps. Moving around the game locations happens in a way typical for virtual reality games - our hero teleports from one place on the map to another. The game's visuals are not that sophisticated, but the cartoonish style successfully masks that. Both character models and locations are simply said eye-pleasing.

Gameplay utilizes elements of competitive and coop multiplayer. Players have to cooperate in order to defeat some of the obstacles, but, in the end, there can be only one winner. The game has two primary game modes: Tournament, where we take part in a tournament made of four randomly selected competitions, and My Show, where we can choose in which games we want take part. The title is still an extensive RPG that takes us to an open post-apocalyptic world. Apart from the main storyline, there is a number of side missions for the player to perform – the developers’ intention was to offer absolute freedom so it is only up to the players where they decide to go and how their actions influence the course of the story. Aside from characteristic features of the series, such as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. character attribute system and the V.A.T.S. aiming system, Fallout 4 VR offers extensive crafting options that let us not only create and enhance various furnishings but also to construct buildings that serve as shelters for the protagonist and his/her companions.

You start playing in a particular place of a procedurally generated world, but the rest is completely up to you – you are free to take control of a single atom, animal, or object, and focus on its immediate whereabouts, or control an entire planet, star or even galaxy. The gameplay has no specific goal – what you do and why you do it is your choice. As you jump between different elements of the universe you create its encyclopedia – objects that you discover are catalogued, after which you can view them in a special menu. All that is complemented by decent graphics and atmospheric soundtrack as well as lectures of the philosopher Alan Watts. Interestingly, Everything is the first video game in history nominated for Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film thanks to its several-minute trailer – that film had also won jury’s award at Vienna Shorts Festival.

To travel to a planet, one has to open the galactic map and freely control the spaceship represented on it. When on a planet’s surface, the main protagonists can move in two dimensions - jump on moving platforms, glide, hang from walls and ceilings, as well as fight the enemy forces. Each character features a unique skill set, such as Double Jump or Deadly Dash. Since the players can freely switch between controlled characters, one can quickly combine their special moves into stunning combos. Developing an adequate strategy and coordinating the team's efforts constitute the key to success here, and the latter of these lies in the captain's hands. The remaining players take the roles of the so-called Rushers, Shooters or Tacticians. XField Paintball 3 comes with relatively average-looking visuals, rather poor in detail.

Strategy, Economic, Trains, Singleplayer, Isometric View.
Another installment in a popular Japanese economic strategy game series created by ARTDINK. A-Train Classic returns to the roots of the series. In the game, the player assumes the role of a president of a train company that deals with municipal transport. Among one’s duties, there are train and bus construction, planning routes and connections, as well as purchasing real estates like hotels, stadiums, and factories. Players’ actions affect the development of the city and surrounding villages, while the inhabitants react to players’ decisions in different ways, often causing us some additional troubles that need to be solved. The key to success lies in finding the balance between investments and incomes. Additional aspects, proving the depth of A-Train Classic, are the realistic stock exchange and the flow of time systems, requiring players to maintain their business and renovate their assets. In the game, one can easily find references to the older installments of the A-Train series, both in terms of mechanics and visuals.

Strategy, Truck, Economic, Singleplayer, Transport.
An economic strategy developed by an in-house team of Deck13 Interactive. The player takes control of a newly established trucking company specializing in road transport of various goods throughout the area of United States, represented by an extensive three-dimensional map. The game itself begins after the choice of a starting location, the first truck and a trailer, and the employment of a skeleton crew. Completing orders increases the reputation of our company, which, as the time goes, reinforces its motor pool (in all, we are offered over a hundred trucks and seven types of trailers), and acquires licenses to transport hazardous or fragile cargo. The world’s economy is dynamic and can surprise the player with recession or see him face one of the AI-controlled opponents. TransRoad: USA offers a range of gameplay modes, including a campaign, single missions, or a sandbox mode with unlimited playtime.

RPG, Dungeon Crawler, Fantasy, jRPG, Singleplayer, Turn-based, Nintendo Exclusive, Isometric View.
Another spin-off in the popular series of dungeon crawlers, Etrian Odyssey, developed by Spike Chunsoft. The player assumes the role of an adventurer, who helps an unfamiliar woman in reaching the roots of the Yggdrasil tree, which is told to hide a gate to the world of gods. The events in Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 are presented from an isometric perspective, and a significant portion of gameplay is about exploration of randomly generated dungeons as well as fighting turn-based battles. Interestingly, both heroes and their adversaries perform actions at the same time – therefore, when you move from one field to another, the enemy may be performing the same action. You take under your command a team of four adventurers, whom you can hire and replace in a town, which serves the role of your base of operation. In the course of the adventure the heroes gain experience and learn new skills as well as class-based special abilities. It is also noteworthy that upon dying the characters go back to the town, however, they also lose the entire equipment and gold they carried. Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2’s characteristic feature is its colorful, eye-pleasing graphics.

Adventure, Puzzle Elements, Full Motion Video, 90s, Remaster/remake, Singleplayer, Vampires.
A remastered edition of Night Trap, a game that debuted in 1992. The new version was developed by Screaming Villains. Similarly to its predecessor, the game uses full motion video technology that utilizes interactive video footage with real actors. The developers of the remaster have cleaned up ninety minutes of the recordings used in the original game and they created a new interface that supports FullHD resolution. In Night Trap – 25th Anniversary Edition the player assumes the role of one of the agents of a secret agency that fights paranormal threats. The game takes place in the house of the Martin family. Five young female friends are having a sleepover there. Soon they discover that they aren’t alone, as vampire-like creatures called the Augers invade the house. The player must protect the girls from danger by using various traps installed across the mansion. The gameplay focuses on observation of the feed from eight different cameras and on activating traps whenever one of the monsters is in the range. Because the events are played in real time, each failure is permanent – failing to protect even one girl leads to losing the game and to having to start it from the beginning.

Strategy, Tanks, Historical, World War II, RTS, Singleplayer, Tactics, Turn-based.
A strategy game developed by Graviteam, a developer known from numerous games offering a believable tank warfare experience. The action takes place between 1942 and 1943 during the Tunisian Campaign which was an Allied attempt to defeat Axis forces stationed in North Africa. The players can choose between both sides of the conflict, each offering a separate campaign that plays out in both tactical and strategic fields through a turn-based overview mode and a three-dimensional real-time environment that sees us assume control over individual units. The game is characterized by its realistic approach to tank warfare. We are given fifty different types of vehicles, while their crews and other units are described by a number of statistics that influence their behavior on the battlefield. The enemy forces are controlled by an advanced AI module that learns and responds to our actions. The battles are especially spectacular thanks to a complex physics engine that governs the effect the projectiles have on vehicles, objects, and environment, as well as a dynamic weather and day and night cycle. Due to high difficulty, the game offers a useful practical tutorial that offers step-by-step instructions for novice players.

Party, Arcade Elements, Internet, Multiplayer, For 2 Players, Splitscreen, Singleplayer, Nintendo Exclusive.
A multiplayer arcade game developed for Nintendo Switch. The game rules are simple - the characters run around a board divided into smaller panels. By jumping you rotate the tiles near your avatar, changing their color to match it. If someone else steps onto your tile, they drop out of the game. When rotating the tiles you can earn various power-ups which e.g. increase your speed or the number of the rotated tiles. Some tiles, however, are immobile and cannot be rotated; if you know the mechanics well enough, you can use it to your advantage. Project Mekuru's multiplayer mode allows 4 players to play with each other at once, either online or using just one console. The visuals are quite simple — on the screen you see only the boards and the colorful characters wearing futuristic suits.

Simulation, 2D, Cyberpunk, Strategic Elements, Indie Games, Programming, Singleplayer.
An original game that can be treated as a hacking simulator created by a Canadian studio called Alice & Smith. We play as a recruit of Network Intelligence & Technical Evaluation company's (the titular NITE) secret branch that is engaged in a cyber war and supports military units. Our task is to operate STINGER system that allows us to hack into opponent's network, coordinate attacks etc. We can do this by selecting various modules and typing special commands. The gameplay in NITE Team 4 is divided into three phases: the first one is a recon, during which we gather useful information; the second is based on exploration and allows us to get passwords to e-mail accounts or, for example, systems that check fingerprints; in the third phase we coordinate land units and provide them with necessary equipment that they can use during fights and infiltration of enemy bases. A characteristic feature of this game is the use of terminology that comes from the revealed NSA documents and the fact that STINGER system was based on real Kali Linux / Metasploit software.

Bye-Bye Boxboy! is the third installment of the logical platform game series developed by HAL Laboratory. Just like in the previous games, we play as Qbby, a square character that can replicate his shape. This time, he has to save Qbabies, beings that look like smaller versions of him. As a reward for his help, they will give him additional abilities. The game is made of eighteen diverse locations where we will have to solve logical and environmental puzzles and avoid traps. As we play, we will make a good use of Boxboy's gradually abilities: Boxrocket creates squares with jet engines which will alow our hero to push the buttons that are way above him; Warpbox can teleport him across a short distance. As we progress, we will gain access to additional content. All of that is presented in a rather simple form. The game has clear, cartoonish 2D visuals that work well, though you won't find any visual bells and whistles here.
