A twin-stick shooter, created by an indie studio called Fermenter Games, inspired by cartoons from 1990s. The story, with a touch of specific humor, plays in Neighborhorde a secondary role. During the game we play as anthropomorphic animals. Their mothers aren't happy with the fact that their children spend too much time on video games. After being forced to go outside, the children have to face robots, sorcerers, zombies and even dragons who got here by a recently opened portal. What is important is that the children have to defeat them before dusk, because when that happens, they will have to go back home for their bedtime story. The action is presented from a top-down perspective and the gameplay is focused on eliminating hordes of enemies by using more than 40 types of weapons and battle skills. Both our heroes and enemies become gradually stronger and the key to success is to cooperate with other team members.

Slayaway Camp is an unusual turn-based logic game developed by an independent studio called Blue Wizard Digital. When working on their game, the developers have drawn their inspirations from the 1980s horror movies and at the same decided to mock their cheesy themes. The player assumes the role of a psychopathic murderer tasked with killing the teenagers who relax on their summer holidays. The maps are relatively small and composed of square fields. The characters can move only in straight lines and stop only if they encounter an obstacle. With these limitations in mind, the player has to reach their destination, avoid traps and other threats, and lead their victims and police officers to the deadly traps. With time, one can unlock more playable characters and gadgets used in the game. The game features a humorous style, in which all the characters and locations look as if they were built from large bricks, while the murders themselves are more funny than terrifying.

The Eldritch Zookeeper is a game that combines elements from several video game genres in order to simulate the life of a zoo manager. The player keeps in his zoo creatures taken directly from the literary works of none other than Howard Phillips Lovecraft. New monsters are delivered on a daily basis and it is up to the player to build the appropriate fence or cage, depending on the type of the creature. Moreover, one has to tend to the monster’s needs and make sure they do not escape. The player also has to come up with some additional attractions for the visitors - constant presence of cosmic horrors can drive anyone insane. Simultaneously, all the responsibilities typical for economic strategy games have to be carried out by a single character. This unfortunate man has to do the entire work all by himself - whenever a beast breaks loose due to the character’s mistakes or visitors’ behavior, it is a high priority to keep the protagonist alive, which often leads to fighting the creatures or running away from the threat, exactly as in survival games.

Cards can be played during real-time battles, resulting in new characters appearing on the map and advancing on the enemy forces. The gameplay comes down to battles between two factions fighting each other from opposing sides of the screen. The creators prepared a typical for this kind of video games multiplayer mode. At the same time, the game offers an extensive story campaign, which, compared to similar games, is an unusual thing. Like the animated TV series, the entire game features the atmosphere of absurd comedy – jokes are plentiful, while the script riffs almost everything and everyone. Also, the visuals are kept in the same style as in the TV series, which should not come off as a surprise – South Park: Phone Destroyer has been created in cooperation with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the fathers of the original TV series.

The protagonist is a smuggler himself, who pilots a combat ship while taking part in air battles, fighting armies belonging to the corporations, and trying to make it out alive. The game is played from a side view, and the experience is based on dynamic action, as the player constantly moves to the right and eliminates everything that stands in their way. The game was divided into randomly generated missions and the player fights different enemies while completing them. Among the adversaries, heavy cruisers are the toughest, because they serve the role of bosses here. To achieve victory, one has to maneuver their ship (it represents one of three classes) effectively, juggle different weapons, attacks and special moves skillfully, as well as to make a good use of the seventy active and passive abilities. Drifting Lands has eye-pleasing visuals, as it offers a colorful, cartoonish graphic style.

The second installment in the jRPG series developed by Mistwalker – a company established by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series. In terms of its plot, Terra Battle 2 is not a direct continuation of its predecessor and takes the player to an entirely new fantasy world. The fate of this realm hangs by a thread as the dark creatures previously turned to stone are brought back to life. The player assumes control over a group of heroes who set off on an adventure to stop the threat and restore order across the world. The gameplay is based on the mechanics known from the first installment and builds on exploration of vast maps and fighting numerous foes. The battles feature a turn-based system; however, the players are given a wider range of battle strategies and tactical options, including the ability to choose a battle formation before the fight. The entire experience is well complemented by the character progress mechanics known from the first installment, based on a profession system.

Shadowverse is a free-to-play collectible card game with a microtransactions system, developed and published by a Japanese studio – Cygames. Shadowverse plays similarly to other games representing this genre – the gameplay builds on card duels with AI or other players. Players get at their disposal seven character classes, each featuring a unique skill set. One’s task during a duel is to reduce the other player's life points to zero by playing cards representing monsters and spells. Another feature, which distinguishes Shadowverse from similar games, is its "Evolve" game mechanic, which allows the players to grant their cards bonus stats and effects at the cost of evolution points purchased for a given amount of gold, which the players receive at the beginning of each turn. Sometimes, these evolution points can unlock completely new abilities. The game also introduces the so-called Amulets - cards played in the opponent’s area, providing a player who played them with passive effects until the Amulet is removed.

A special version of Fallout 4 developed by Bethesda Softworks with VR headsets in mind. Content-wise, the game doesn’t significantly deviate from the original, although the systems of combat, crafting, and building were altered in order to work with VR devices. The title is still an extensive RPG that takes us to an open post-apocalyptic world. Apart from the main storyline, there is a number of side missions for the player to perform – the developers’ intention was to offer absolute freedom so it is only up to the players where they decide to go and how their actions influence the course of the story. Aside from characteristic features of the series, such as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. character attribute system and the V.A.T.S. aiming system, Fallout 4 VR offers extensive crafting options that let us not only create and enhance various furnishings but also to construct buildings that serve as shelters for the protagonist and his/her companions.

Jump Stars is a multiplayer party game for two to four players developed by a small independent studio Jamit Games. The game allows us to take part in a crazy TV game show where weird, square creatures compete against each other in various games for fame, money, and freedom. Their rules are rather simple. We will have to, for example, avoid lasers, spiked barrels, climb up on platforms in order to avoid lava, or fight against each other on a small arena. Gameplay utilizes elements of competitive and coop multiplayer. Players have to cooperate in order to defeat some of the obstacles, but, in the end, there can be only one winner. The game has two primary game modes: Tournament, where we take part in a tournament made of four randomly selected competitions, and My Show, where we can choose in which games we want take part. Jump Stars is a simple and fun game with minimalistic, cartoonish visuals.

NHL 18 is another installment in the sports game series developed by EA Sports – a division of Electronic Arts. The gameplay revolves around the same mechanics as the previous installments, trying to faithfully represent ice hockey games; however, the developers implemented some major changes. One of them is the Defensive Skill Stick system, ensuring better control over a player and the hockey stick during defensive maneuvers. Opponents have a wider range of available moves making the game smoother. Also, the AI poses a bigger challenge – from now on, our teammates are better at taking positions and defensive actions, while the AI players are more difficult to defeat. Moreover, NHL 18 introduces the 3 vs 3 mode with slightly different rules – with fewer players on the field, one has more space to execute maneuvers on the ice. The game also allows us to play more conventional modes, such as PvP and both local and online co-op.
