The add-on is the biggest one created for the game so far, as it introduces thirty new species, such as dodos, Tasmanian tigers, and even dinosaurs, including the Tyrannosaurus Rex. You task is to make sure they have the best living conditions possible (which means they have to resemble the animals' natural habitat), so that the beautiful and well-kept specimens will attract more visitors, who will pay you money. That, in turn allows you to further develop your zoo. The expansion requires the core game to run and does not introduce any changes to the mechanics or the visuals.
