An old-school RPG with plot that was inspired by the Akira Kurosawa's classic movie Seven Samurai and its American remake, The Magnificent Seven. The action is set in a fantasy world on the island of Roven, where the inhabitants have been terrorized by ruthless bandits for a long time — they steal, burn down houses, and even commit murder. The desperate islanders hire a group of seven coldblooded mages to deal with the villains. The gameplay mechanics of 7 Mages are inspired by classical dungeon crawlers. In the game, we control a 7-member party of heroes with varied magical abilities. The on-screen events are viewed from the first-person perspective. Occasionally, we will also have to solve logic puzzles. The above is complemented by an old-school tile-by-tile movement with the ability to turn by 90 degrees only and a tactically rich turn-based combat system.

The second paid expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division, an online action game with RPG elements. Survival, just like the vanilla game, was developed by Ubisoft Massive, a studio experienced with online titles. Similarly to the first add-on, Underground, Survival first debuted on Xbox One and then came out for PC and PlayStation 4 a month later. The Division is a political thriller in which New York is faced with a biological terrorist attack. As a result of it, the metropolis is cut off from the world and its citizens have to fight for their lives. The entire city is mired in chaos but some places are especially dangerous. These so-called Dark Zones, are where the PvP combat happens, and they are the expansion's main focus. As the title suggests, the add-on introduces a survival mode in which players have to survive as long as possible in Dark Zones.

The third and the final add-on released as a part of the season pass for Tom Clancy’s The Division, a popular online action game developed by Ubisoft Massive. In opposition to the two previous expansions – Underground and Survival, Last Stand was released on all three platforms (PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One) simultaneously. The new add-on does not introduce any major changes to multiplayer mechanics, but picks up the various plot threads that began in The Division, taking place in New York paralyzed by a pandemic of an unknown virus. As the members of Strategic Homeland Division, the players are trying to contain the chaos that has engulfed the city and deal with the terrorists responsible for the attack. The final expansion introduces new types of enemies, as well as a few additional story missions.

A representative of classic, isometric cRPGs, featuring a turn-based combat system. It was developed by New York-based Balcony Team. The story is set in Balrum - a fantasy world whose inhabitants are hiding from undead armies led by the evil Nasrus. They find a shelter in the gloomy Darkwood, a place which had not been visited for centuries. The player assumes the role of a hero being the only one capable of solving the dark mystery of the woods and giving them back their old casual lifestyle. The gameplay mechanics combine classic RPG elements, such as exploration, combat, conversations, and questing, with a set of modern-day features, including full freedom of choice and character development for example. Interestingly, the player is allowed to build their house, thus in-between subsequent missions they can spend time as a farmer for example. The experience is complemented by an extensive crafting system, allowing us to create weapons, potions or even to prepare meals.

Gameplay focuses on fights in which the players use personally-built decks of cards representing characters and their special skills. Combat takes place on levels divided into several vertical lanes, in a manner resembling a tower defense game. During the game, players activate cards in turns, summoning units, putting them on lanes, or making them use their superpowers. Plants vs. Zombies Heroes concentrates on multiplayer, although the game offers a single player campaign as well.

A space simulator which offers the players an opportunity to participate in huge battles involving hundreds of players and stretching across entire planetary system. Three powerful factions compete against one another in the war-ridden world of Infinity: Battlescape. Each of the factions has a network of space stations and defensive systems, as well as fleets comprised of combat ships. The ships come in various types, such as fighters, bombers, corvettes, huge cruisers or carriers - all of them can be controlled by the players. The goal of each party involved in the conflict is to destroy enemy forces and infrastructure. However, because the fighting takes place both in outer space and within atmospheres of different planets, achieving the ultimate victory is quite time-consuming. The game offers realistic flight physics, as the game takes such factors into account as density of atmosphere or gravitational phenomena. As an addition to the multiplayer experience, the creators included a single player sandbox mode. Infinity: Battlescape utilizes the in-house I-Novae Engine, which made it possible to create an enormous, open and procedurally-generated universe.

An unusual production by Pawel Mogila from Mogila Games. The title features elements characteristic for logic, action, platform, and even stealth games. You assume the role of Samson who, as the title outright states, is clinically dead. This means that for him, the time has stopped – due to that, he can contemplate his whole life. This translates into traveling through surreal places, which symbolize the hero’s mind, and talking with his own subconsciousness. In Clinically Dead, the action is presented from the first-person perspective. Logic puzzles are the backbone of the game – you need to manipulate time, represented by multi-colored stains on the environment elements. Your job is to maneuver these objects so that they adjust correctly at the right moment, which unlocks another location. Moreover, the hero also jumps on the platforms, faces opponents (using melee weapons or magic bullets), or sneaks behind their backs. This is a non-linear title featuring locations connected by multiple paths.

An action-puzzle game inspired by the annual “Earth Hour” event organized by WWF foundation. The game was developed by the Russian studio Brainy. It shows how much the modern world depends on electricity. When an accident in the power plant causes the whole city to run out of electricity, the player assumes the role of the last “living” spark and is tasked with restoring the power and allowing the inhabitants of the city to function normally. The gameplay mechanics in TurnOn are similar as in typical platformer games. The difference lies in the fact that instead between the platforms, the player must jump between electric wires. By jumping from one wire to another, the player tries to restore the power to houses, shops, and various electric devices. The devices are connected to each other with a tightly tangled network of connections. Because of that, in addition to having high agility, the game also forces the player to think. The game contains bonus levels as well. During them the player must move through the electric wires according to the tune of the background music.

The beast, in order to avoid detection, can lie and persuade other participants or form secret pacts with them. The village’s inhabitants have to master special skills that make detecting a werewolf easier or, alternatively, make it possible to ally oneself with him and fool the others. Out of the Park Baseball 17 features also a bunch of improvements concerning visuals and mechanics. Most of them were based on the feedback from the gaming community.

A two-dimensional platformer from the auto-runner genre, developed by Nerf Game studio for mobile devices. Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers tells a rather absurd story of two brothers, who are... a pair of socks. When one of them disappears without a trace, the other decides to find him, which is an excuse for playing through 30 crazy stages. Our character moves forward by himself, and we have to input gestures to provide him with commands, like jumping or inhaling the air to turn sock into pseudo-balloon and provide slow descent. Our objective is to reach the end of each level filled with obstacles and traps, not to mention various enemies and challenging bosses. To deal with them, we are given a vast array of weaponry that we unlock as we progress through the game.

A sandbox action-adventure game and the debut project from the independent team at Paranoid Productions. The Church in the Darkness takes us back to the late 70s, and the story focuses on a pair of characters – followers of a radical cult, who run away to South America and try to create a utopia in the jungle. We play as a policeman named Vic whose nephew joins the mysterious church, so he travels to the aforementioned place to check if the boy is alright. The game is characterized by its high degree of randomness and freedom of action. A procedural generation system manages not only the shape of the locations and the placement of NPC, but also the dogmas of the titular Church, which affect the game’s plot. There are also difficult decisions to make, each with irreversible consequences.

Strategy, 2D, Multiplayer, Splitscreen, Singleplayer, Tactics, Turn-based, Western.
A turn-based strategy game for mobile devices, set in the American Old West. It was developed by the Mika Mobile studio and takes the player to a land combining the Wild West with occultist ideas. Such a combination gave plenty of room to the creators, when it came to writing the scenarios and inventing the virtual weapons. The game focuses mainly on turn-based battles during which, the player can command over twenty different types of units. Contrary to the majority of similar games however, units do not last longer than through one battle here - the game places a special emphasis on winning at all costs. Later on, the player replenishes the casualties. Only the so-called Living Legends are an exception here, for the player can gradually upgrade their statistics alongside progression. Making good use of their skills, the player is capable of tipping the balance in favour of their victory more than once.

Adventure, Detective, Indie Games, Internet, Co-op, 80s, Multiplayer, Gamebook, Singleplayer, Text.
A text adventure game focusing on co-op experience and investigation-related aspects. It was created by Mi-Clos - a French developer. The year is 1983 and the plot is set in the titular Antioch - a fictional town surrounded by sea and mountains. The game follows the adventures of two detectives working on an exceptionally complicated case. The entire action takes place in a small, open world, where a large number of side cases await for solving, apart from the main storyline the game presents the player with. When it comes to the mechanics, Antioch makes references to classic gamebooks - for the most part, the player is engaged in reading, which is accompanied by numerous graphics and animations displayed. However, the game stands out with its focus on cooperation between two players assuming the roles of the detectives mentioned above. Their mutual interactions, decisions made and teamwork during interrogations all shape the course of the story and affect the final results of the investigation.
