Our job will be to find the reason behind those events and to unravel a galactic conspiracy Alyssa was unaware of before. Gameplay in Cosmic Star Heroine focuses on exploration and combat. During the turn-based battles we will use a rather unique weapon: a rod that can generate force fields and turn into a rifle. Talking with NPCs and modifying our headquarters also plays an important role in the game. Additionally, Alyssa can recruit agents that will accompany her in her adventures. Cosmic Star Heroine is powered by Unity technology and has 2D pixel-art visuals.

We learn the game’s story from perspectives of two different characters, each with different motives and objectives. Moreover, the town itself is filled with complex and colorful characters with their own hidden secrets. All those elements together allowed the creators to create a complicated, multi-thread plot with many plot twists and mysteries to discover.

After a few years of silence, here comes yet another installment in the popular fighting series Guilty Gear developed by Arc System Works. The game’s biggest feature is the use of Unreal Engine which supports 1080p, along with 3D backgrounds and 3D character models. The latter, implemented as a modified cel-shading style, strongly resembles original, two-dimensional sprites. Mechanically, not much has changed; it is still a classic fighting title with a dynamic and difficult-to-master combat system based on combos and special attacks (which drain a special bar). Each of the 17 warriors has a different style concerning both looks and moves. The campaign tells the stories of the heroes, but nothing stops you from enjoying only e.g. arcade or multiplayer battles.
