A brutal science fiction FPS. The game is a debut title of the studio Vinci Games from Poland. In the game the player assumes the role of an ex-commando. In search for his missing family, he arrives at a mining colony on planet Argos 9. Soon he discovers that the place hides rich deposits of a valuable resource called nitium. The resource is an alternative for the waning natural resources of Earth. When the contact with the inhabitants of the base is lost, in order to save the missing family members the protagonist must face space enemies who greatly outnumber him. The gameplay mechanics combine traits of an intense and dynamic first-person shooter with a dark atmosphere of claustrophobic rooms and dark corridors of an underground colony. Some of the levels take place in a half-open space. The player can use 9 different weapons that can be modified with valuable upgrades.

An unusual first-person shooter featuring open-world environment, created by an independent studio, Big Robot. The game ridicules the habits of British aristocracy. The action takes place in an alternative version of Great Britain, swarming with intelligent robots that wish to destroy every human they lay their lenses upon. The player takes control of one of their potential victims, whose mission is simply to survive. The game presents a hilarious approach to first-person shooters, as it focuses on depicting and satirizing the customs of high society gentlemen. Therefore, the player can observe robots drinking tea or smoking pipes for example. Despite being intended as a satire, the game has proper three-dimensional visuals based on an proprietary game engine, able to procedurally generate rural English landscapes.

A futuristic MMOFPS developed by 3000AD. Line of Defense takes us to Lyrius, a remote planet which is also a major site of the research conducted by GALCOM, a powerful space corporation/empire. After a period of extended research, the planet’s resources have been almost completely depleted, an event which forces the empire to focus its attention on other similar sites. Terra, one of the rebel factions that plants to overthrow the empire, decides to use the opportunity and take over the valuable site. The game sees us take part in a planet-wide war between two powerful factions. The players are tasked with taking over four large bases, located on the different continents of the planet as well as the planet’s orbit. Such targets require major offensives (PvP battles for up to 256 players) that include land, air, or naval units. In contrast to other similar titles, the game doesn’t force the player to choose a pre-determined character class, instead leaving him with a set of abilities that can be upgraded at will.

The first story-based expansion for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - an action RPG created in cooperation between 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. The DLC introduces new storylines connected to a mysterious island located off the coast of the Gallows End continent. On the island, the player character faces dark magic and new, powerful enemies. Once the player completes the main storyline, they are allowed to explore the new areas freely and complete an entire set of side quests given by NPCs. The expansion remains faithful to the basic mechanics of the core game, though several new features were introduced as well. The Legend of Dead Kel brings mainly a new kind of dungeon, three new Twists of Fate cards, 8 new armors, 8 new shields and 18 powerful, previously unavailable weapons. The biggest feature of the DLC however, is the Gravehal Keep system, which allows the players to construct and expand their own estate.

With her appearance, the player has an opportunity to take part in a new adventure that focuses on a magic relict called the Heart of the Many. The heroes have to find this rare item, which is no small task since it was apparently hidden in an Orlaisian baron’s estate. Mark of the Assassin allows the players to visit a new outside of Kirkwall, encounter new enemies, and make use of an expanded weapon arsenal, among other things. Gameplay-wise, Mark of the Assassin bases on the solutions of the vanilla Dragon Age II, so it is still a real-time party-based RPG with active pause.
