Between Horizons is an independent sci-fi adventure game. This detective game is the work of the German studio DigiTales Interactive, the creators of the similarly toned Lacuna from 2021.

Plot

The action of the game takes place on board the Zephyr spaceship, which has left the destroyed Earth and is heading towards a place suitable for humanity. 33 years have passed since the beginning of the journey, but over a century remains until its end, which is why most of the inhabitants will never set foot in the new paradise.

One of such people is Stella - a young security chief forced to take over the position after her father. The heroine, born aboard the ship, will have to face a plot whose goal is to torpedo the Zephyr's mission. She will often face various moral dilemmas.

Between Horizons is an excellent combination of my favorite genres—sci-fi and detective mystery. It is a well-crafted game that shows great attention to detail and care. It’s a short game: it took me about 4 hours to complete it: but it also has a lot of replay value with its multiple endings. So, if you like sci-fi and investigating, do try Between Horizons; you’ll like it as much as I did.

Softpedia: 8.5 / 10 by Cosmin Vasile

Between Horizons is a pretty traditional representative of the adventure game genre, with some solid modern touches. Stella’s story is affecting, and The Zephyr works well as the setting for a science-fiction mystery that features fundamental ethical dilemmas and big emotional moments.
