Unfinished Pixel, an independent studio previously known for sports and arcade games like Super Volley Blast and Spy Chameleon, has taken a step towards strategy and RPG genres. The turn-based Blightstone incorporates roguelike elements, offering challenging gameplay that often requires starting over.

Gameplay

The team we manage consists of three to four representatives from different classes, accompanied by a crystal with its own arsenal of skills. The essence of Blightstone lies in bloody turn-based battles fought on gridless boards, allowing for free movement of characters.

Environment as a weapon

During tactical battles, not only positioning, formation, and range play a crucial role, but also terrain conditions and weather. To avoid area attacks, the commanded group can be dispersed, and rocks or tall grass can be used for cover (until someone sets it on fire). Puddles, streams, and rain serve as catalysts for lightning, allowing for chain damage, while fog can obscure the enemy's interface and make it difficult to assess threats from pits and dense sands. Strong winds, on the other hand, reduce accuracy in ranged combat.
