Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless is the next installment in the popular series of strategy-tactical jRPGs. The game was developed by the Japanese studio Nippon Ichi Software, the same team responsible for developing the entire series since its first installment in 2003.

Plot

The game takes place in the demonic land of Hinomoto, where no code of honor of any sort applies. The game's protagonist is a lazy, greedy samurai named Fuji, persuaded by a girl named Pirilika to become her bodyguard during an expedition to the demonic realm.

Story-wise, the game is reminiscent of the previous installments. Its tone is highly comedic, often making fun of fantasy and RPG cliches.

Mechanics

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless expands upon the ideas introduced earlier on in the series. Once again, it's a turn-based tactical RPG in which we command a small squad of characters.

The game's combat mechanics are very expansive, allowing the use of many different techniques, attacks and items. Aside from combat we explore the world and develop our characters. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless features over forty character classes, giving the player lots of freedom in how to shape their party.

Game modes

The game is only playable in singleplayer. Our squads, however, can be pitted against other players' teams in automatic online battles. The results of these battles shape the ranking of best squads.

Technical aspects

The 3D visuals of Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless are simple, though also making use of an appealing anime artstyle.
