Disgaea 7 Announced; Game Series That Elevated Grind to Art Form

It's been almost two years from the release of Disgaea 6 and it looks like Nippon Ichi Software studio won't let fans of the series get bored for long. The developers have announced the next, seventh installment and shared a trailer. Unfortunately, for now only the Japanese release date is known. Disgaea 7 will debut in Japan on January 26, 2023.. The game will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

A few words about Disgaea 7

The Disgaea series combines RPG elements with strategy. The games in the series are characterized by a story rich in distinctive humor, many battles and often hours of grind, which for many was one of the elements of fun. The seventh installment will likely stay true to this formula, expanding on some of the mechanics. The game will feature 45 varied characters, numerous skills and seven types of weapons, enabling you to create a unique party depending on your combat preference.

It is not yet known when Disgaea 7 will launch in the US and Europe, but we will probably find out soon.

It's hard to understand anything from the game's trailer, as so far only a trailer in Japanese is available. However, you can get a glimpse of the visuals and some of the mechanics, including the one that enables you to turn one of your characters into a giant. In this form, the individual will be able to defeat several enemies at once and open huge treasure chests.
