EA Sports PGA Tour is an advanced, officially licensed golf simulator featuring actual courses and players. It was developed by Electronic Arts. It's the first game of this genre developed by the studio since 2014.

Mechanics

EA Sports PGA Tour is a typical simulator, emphasizing realism above all else. We play as a golfer participating in various competitions. The developers have prepared three primary control schemes. The first one - Arcade - has the player hit the ball by correctly tilting the displayed part of the controller (such as an analog stick). Classic, as the name suggests, is more in line with oldschool golf games. It causes indicators of strength and direction to appear on the screen. To hit the ball, we must press the button at the right time, when the indicator's at the right spot. The last scheme, Tour, is designed for more advanced players, letting them precisely control each aspect of the swing and deactivating all assists. It is also possible to customize the gameplay yourself.

2015 was the last time EA has put out a golf game, and in that time 2K has started creeping behind it trying to solidify itself as the go-to virtual golf experience. Does EA’s PGA Tour have what it takes to make a comeback?
