An unusual FPP adventure game that lets you relive the last day of several characters facing impending apocalypse. The game was created by The Chinese Room, the developer known for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Dear Esther. The game is set in a small village in Britain. Each playthrough lasts 60 minutes and you have no clear objectives to follow. The open world is inhabited by 6 independent characters, each one having their own ideas on how to spend the last moments of life. Playing as one of them you get to freely explore the world and interact with other characters to influence their fate and behavior. The game was designed for multiple playthroughs, each time to discover something new and shape the story differently. The game’s world created with CryEngine 3 features high level of interactivity, as almost every object can be manipulated.

A first-person perspective adventure game with logic elements, developed by Cyan - the creators of the cult adventure game series, Myst. Obduction, created as a Myst’s spiritual successor, tells a story of a man who finds a bizarre organic artifact that fell from the sky and is taken by it into a strange world. In the game, our task is to figure out where are we, and then find a way back home. Similarly to the aforementioned Myst series, the key element of the gameplay is gradual uncovering of the game world and its laws and then using this knowledge to overcome the obstacles we encounter. Therefore, the game focuses mainly on exploration and solving subsequent logic puzzles of various difficulty level. The game does not offer any cutscenes, and most of its story is learned by means of exploration, environment analysis, and reading journals we find throughout the world.

An action adventure game, in which you play as a wolf with supernatural abilities and explore the remains of an ancient civilization. Lost Ember takes place within the ruins of a metropolis left by a fictional tribe, modeled after the Inca people. The civilization has gone extinct long ago, and the monuments it had built had become part of the wild forest. The wolf, whose role the player assumes, has the power to control the bodies of other animals. Using this ability, you have to travel across the game’s world and gradually discover the truth behind the collapse of the city of Machu Kila. Most of the time you explore different environments, occasionally running into a challenge that tests your agility or dexterity. Although the wolf is fit to deal with many obstacles, it is often necessary to incarnate other animals to press on. They all have unique abilities: a bird can fly, a fish swims, and a mole digs underground tunnels – all those are needed in specific moments of the game. In terms of graphics, Lost Ember uses vivid colors and slightly cartoonish art style.

They can complete this task by joining forces with other users. The game was designed with multiplayer in mind. While playing Sky, the player is walking and flying together with several other players who help, protect or compete with each other. The developers provided the players with complete freedom to choose how to act. It is worth mentioning that the game world is constantly changing, offering new adventures and mysteries. Sky initially debuted on Apple platforms (iPhone, iPad and Apple TV).

A sci-fi FPP logic puzzle game by Bulkhead Interactive, a studio founded by the creators of Pneuma: Breath of Life. The story takes place an unspecified number of years in the future, when scientists discover a seemingly harmless alien life form on Jupiter's moons. You play as an astronaut named Ava Turing, whose task is to examine the new species, and who ends up finding more than she expected. The Turing Test is a part of the FPP logic puzzle genre, popularized by the Portal series. There's no combat in the game, and the gameplay is entirely focused on solving puzzles. To do this, you mostly use a special device that allows you to manipulate energy and transfer if from object to object. You also have to operate various mechanisms and intelligent machines, as well as complete occasional platform challenges.

The first project by Giant Squids, an independent studio founded by Matt Nova – the artistic director of the extremely successful game called Journey, created for PlayStation consoles. Abzu is an interactive exploration production in which you reveal secrets of a lively underworld. The player assumes the role of a cat-like diver who delves into the ocean and meets schools of fish, groups of aquatic mammals, as well as some other truly majestic creatures and remnants of an ancient civilization. Abzu offers a fluid control system which enables you to perform underwater pirouettes, flips, and gives you a chance to ride sea creatures, such as a shark. Sometimes, getting to a place requires a skillful use of available abilities or solving a logic puzzle. Yet, Abzu puts a strong emphasis on its artistic value. Therefore, the game enchants players with a riot of colors, an abundance of diverse underwater life, and amazing special effects.

The story is set in the northern regions of the Quebec province, in the 1970s. The game tells the story of a conflict between the owner of the most profitable copper mine in the region - a rich man called W. Hamilton, and the native local community accusing him of devastating sacred sites in search for more profit. The player is put in the shoes of a detective hired by Hamilton after his chalet in the mountains has been devastated. After his arrival, the protagonist discovers that his employer as well as the entire local community went missing. The gameplay focuses on exploration, finding clues and solving puzzles. However, the game features survival elements as well - the player has to tend to the protagonist's health and face many different dangers, such as low temperatures, predators, etc.

An episodic action platformer that deals with themes of love and loneliness. In Sea of Solitude you play as a young girl named Kay, who begins to transform into a dark monster one day. During her solitary journey across the flooded world Kay is trying to find out what exactly is happening to her. Soon she realizes that her true enemy are not monsters encountered on the way, but something much more powerful and dangerous. Gameplay in Sea of Solitude is presented in third-person perspective, and focuses on exploration, solving logic puzzles, and completing arcade challenges. The protagonist can run, jump, swim (or travel by boat), and move various objects in order to open a way for herself to hardly accessible places. Sea of Solitude stands out with its original graphics, resembling an animated motion picture. The game also conveys a deeper meaning, the message being that a desperately lonely person may gradually become a monster.

In the game we play the part of a 16-year-old girl named Renee who comes to the asylum in hope of recovering her lost memories. Her task is complicated by the fact that she suffers from schizophrenia, and during exploration she is constantly accompanied by her various fears and other symptoms of her condition. During the game we explore subsequent, carefully reproduced rooms of the asylum, slowly discovering all of its dark secrets. Depending on our actions, story can develop in a nonlinear way.

Additionally, you have to avoid imaginary monsters and find family memories, which are the only way to tame our hero's imagination. Since you are playing as a little child, most of the time you will be crawling or walking slowly, only occasionally running, for short period of time.

An action-adventure game offering a surrealistic atmosphere and developed by Bedtime Digital Games. Figment is set in a world which depicts the subconsciousness of a 40-year-old man. When his calm mind got attacked by nightmares symbolizing everyday frights, two friends stood up to them. Dusty is an embodiment of courage; as for Rusty, she manifests optimism and bears a resemblance to birds. The game is played from an isometric view and the experience is based mainly on exploring locations filled with traps and fighting enemies and bosses encountered. Interestingly, the stronger enemies sometimes are not eager to fight and only through backing them into a corner can the player confront them, which requires finding the weak spots of the adversary and taking advantage of them. The game world is filled with sounds and music, which illustrates the player's actions. The in-game environments are presented with thr use of colorful, hand-drawn graphics reminiscent of the works by Salvador Dali.

A remake of Dear Esther, a popular narrative exploration game from 2012 that started a whole new genre – the so-called walking simulators. It was developed by the independent studio The Chinese Room. Contrary to the base version of the game that was powered by the Source engine and released only on personal computers, this edition is powered by the Unity technology. This enabled the developers to release their game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. The new version introduces completely new sounds, including the developers’ commentary that can be played during the game. In Dear Esther: Landmark Edition the player calmly travels through locations (the action is presented in a first-person perspective) and gradually discovers new pieces of the story. The plot is presented in the form of letters to the titular Esther, which are read by a mysterious male voice. Since the game lacks any interactions with the environment, it caused many discussions about whether it is still a video game or simply an interactive experience.

Building your own worlds is one of the mainstays of the game. They can be placed in a number of settings and conventions: from Wild West, through forests and farms, and up to medieval castles and arenas inspired by Feudal Japan. The player can modify the topography, as well as build objects and items. The game incorporates survival elements – survival in an yland requires food, shelter from the predators, and equipment. The fauna consists of the aforementioned predators, as well as domesticable animals, but the player can also choose to be accompanied by robots. We can explore the area on foot, or use various vehicles. Ylands can be played solo, or along with three friends. The game is characteristic for its colorful, angular graphics, while almost all the elements of the environment are destructible.
