A third-person perspective exploration game about death and loneliness. It was developed by an independent developer who also created Home is Where one Starts. In The First Tree, the player follows two distinctly different characters: a female fox that is looking for her lost kids, and a pair of humans facing death of their closest ones.

An MMORPG by Bossa Studios, the creators of crazy simulation games that base on playing with physics, for example I Am Bread and Surgeon Simulator. Worlds Adrift takes us to a land filled with islands that float in the air, and we move between them on board various flying vessels. Taking care of the ship’s state and enhancing it is a key element of the gameplay, while you have to remember that the bigger the ship, the more players it needs to be properly staffed.

A science fiction horror adventure game by an independent one-man studio, Incandescent Imaging. The action takes place in the future in which the eponymous caffeine is a valuable resource obtained in space with special mining ships. Aboard one of them, a young boy awakens and discovers that for some unknown reason the vessel is completely deserted. Exploring the dark interior of the ship, the protagonist learns new facts and clues that lead him to the solution of the mystery.

The action takes place in the 17th century in colonial North America. The player must investigate the mystery of the disappearance of the inhabitants of a British settlement. Characteristic feature of the game is black and white graphic design.
Iron Fish

An original psychological horror co-developed by Beefjack studio and Dean Edwards. The player assumes the role of Cerys Harley – an oceanographer commissioned by the Royal Navy to explore the bottom of the ocean at the depth of 7 miles. Using special equipment, the protagonist discovers and documents not only yet-unknown creatures, but also remains of old civilizations. Gameplay of Iron Fish concentrates on exploring the captivating and atmospheric locations, like coral reefs and dark caves.
EVEREST VR

A simulation game designed for virtual reality sets, taking us to Himalayas where we conquer the summit of the highest mountain in the world. Production was developed by Icelandic Sólfar Studios collaborating with RVX team, responsible for special effects in the Baltasar Kormáruk movie, Everest. Project was supported financially by many Scandinavian institutions.
Dear Esther: Landmark Edition

A remake of Dear Esther, a popular narrative exploration game from 2012 that started a whole new genre – the so-called walking simulators. It was developed by the independent studio The Chinese Room. Contrary to the base version of the game that was powered by the Source engine and released only on personal computers, this edition is powered by the Unity technology. This enabled the developers to release their game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.

An FPP action-adventure game featuring sci-fi elements and focusing on exploration. It was developed by Blue Isle Games - a Canadian team popular for Slender: The Arrival. The player is taken to the titular valley, which is a mysterious place located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. Assuming the role of an unspecified character, the player traverses a set of diversified locations, trying to discover the secrets hidden in the area. The protagonist makes use of the L.E.A.F.

The game was inspired by American TV series such as The X-Files or The Twilight Zone, as well the British series Black Mirror and video games like The Stanley Parable or P.T. (the playable teaser of the ultimately cancelled Silent Hills).

The game is a sort of poetic visual story with such themes as childhood, memories, and hope. Interestingly, this is a work of basically one man, who only used the help of his closest family. Home is Where One Starts… tells a story of a teenage girl who leaves her home for school early in the morning, but misses her bus.
