Hitman: World of Assassination

Hitman: World of Assassination is a production that combines the content of three stealth games under one banner: Hitman (2016), Hitman 2 (2018), and Hitman 3 (2021). The release of this compilation (specifically - the rebranding of Hitman 3 to Hitman: World of Assassination) was aimed at simplifying the purchasing procedure and overcoming the chaos associated with the compatibility of individual DLCs with specific titles. For this reason, this release replaced the three previous games, which were withdrawn from sale.

This version was developed by IO Interactive studio, which oversees the development of the series. It offers access to story missions (which together form one large campaign), contracts, so-called elusive targets, as well as a roguelike Freelancer mode. The culmination of all this is a single progression system.

Gameplay

In Hitman: World of Assassination the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game, we play as a hired assassin known as Agent 47. Together with Diana Burnwood, he tries to settle the score once and for all with a group known as Providence.

Open locations

The gameplay was prepared in such a way as to combine the best elements from previous installments of the series with modernized mechanics. The most important novelty is the focus on locations with an open structure. Apart from the main goal, various challenges and optional activities await us. Individual missions are also more extensive and noticeably longer than in previous parts of the series, and their completion (along with all side objectives) can take even several hours.

Different ways to complete missions

Just like in past games, our main task is to eliminate certain characters, which we can do in many ways. The game allows us to engage in open conflicts with opponents, but the highest scoring methods here are much more subtle. They include sneaking into guarded locations in disguise, conducting sniper attacks, eliminating guards with a garrote and a silencer-equipped pistol, creating accidents, or even using poisons. It is worth demonstrating discretion and creativity, as we can advance to the next mastery levels and gain increasingly better equipment.

Difficulties when playing a hitman

Unlike previous installments of the series, the protagonist cannot take too many items on a mission, which forces us to prepare thoroughly for the task. Additionally, the artificial intelligence of enemies has been improved, which makes them react much more frequently to any unusual situations in their immediate surroundings.
