Release Date: December 1, 2025
A beat'em up developed by the creators of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. Marvel Cosmic Invasion allows us to play as popular Marvel superheroes, including Captain America, Wolverine or Spider-Man. We must protect the galaxy, either fighting alone or in coop mode (locally or online).
Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a beat'em up game, made in a form reminiscent of the golden era of arcade machines. It was developed by the independent studio Tribute Games, which has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and Mercenary Kings in its portfolio. Its release was handled by Dotemu company.
In Marvel Cosmic Invasion we watch the action from the side. The game provides us with a range of playable characters, among which we will find such Marvel stars as Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine or Nova. After the army of the sinister Annihilus launched a massive attack on the galaxy, the superheroes join forces to stop the enemy.
There are various levels in the game (from New York to the Negative Zone) and we engage in dynamic battles with hordes of enemies. Individual heroes were differentiated in terms of fighting style, available attacks, and strengths and weaknesses.
The game implemented the so-called "cosmic character change system". Starting a given mission, we choose two heroes, between whom we can freely switch during the adventure. It diversifies the gameplay, allowing us to create various combinations of characters and moves, as well as launch special attacks.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion allows for solo play or cooperative mode gameplay. We can play with other players through the Internet or on a shared screen.
The graphic design of Marvel Cosmic Invasion was done in pixel art style, resembling the titles from the 16-bit era.

GamesRadar+: 4 / 5 by Scott McCrae
You can play as any character duo you like in any level; however, each level has an intended duo.
Nintendo Life: 8 / 10 by Tom Massey
Pure cartoon fun, and all the better for it, Tribute Games has not only totally honoured the source material, but delivered one of the best arcade Marvel games ever made. The aesthetic is beautiful, and the effort involved in creating such a varied cast of beat-'em-up protagonists is admirable.Yes, there are areas for improvement, and some of its combat-feedback oversights feel like missed opportunities. But if you primarily want multiplayer action, to unlock and grind and level up your cast, and to get knee-deep in Marvel mayhem, it's right on the money. If you're working through its single-player Story campaign, you're likely to get bored before the end owing to its ease, but unlock Hard Difficulty and Cosmic Invasion becomes all it was destined to be.
TheGamer: 4 / 5 by George Foster
Whether you’re stuck comparing every brawler to TMNT for the rest of time like me or not, Cosmic Invasion is still a great experience that proves once again that Tribute is the best there is at what it does - and what it does best is very nice.
