MKAU Gaming: 8 / 10 by Brad Thorsen

Monster Train 2 doesn’t change the formula much, but that’s okay. It didn’t need to. It tightens what worked, adds a few smart new features, and still delivers that same addictive loop of strategy and chaos. If you’re into roguelikes, card battlers, or enjoy a good tactical challenge, especially if you have Game Pass, Monster Train 2 is worth checking out.

The main cons of the game

  • Art Style and UI: Some players feel that the art style and UI have become less appealing compared to the first game, describing it as "self-serious" and "busy."
  • Camera Perspective: The more zoomed-in camera view is criticized for making it harder to manage the multi-tiered gameplay compared to the original.
