Mario Kart is a series that has been with us since SNES. The most famous mascots of Nintendo are racing on go-karts. Of course, this has nothing to do with realism - the driving model is typically dexterity. A characteristic feature of this title is also the presence of various types of power-ups, with the help of which we can make the life of our opponents unpleasant, as well as improve our own performance (for example by using acceleration).

Another installment in the iconic game series developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. It was released in the form of twin role-playing games: Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. The story in both games is set in Kalos, a region resembling France. In the game, the players assume the roles of trainers who traverse the world in search of the monsters they can catch, train and send to fight battles in the Pokemon league. In order to succeed, the player has to obtain eight special badges by defeating the gym leaders and proving their worth to the so-called Elite Four - the best trainers in Kalos. The twin games do not bring any significant changes to the gameplay mechanics introduced by the previous installments - the gameplay consists mainly of exploration. Apart from that, the player can talk to other characters and battle opponents in turn-based duels using Pokemon that differ in skills and combat techniques. Both games are the series's first attempt at utilizing fully three-dimensional graphics.

The action of the game starts in 2054. The Earth is almost completely destroyed because of the war of two alien species and the humanity is forced to look for a new home. White Whale, an American space shuttle, crashes on planet Mira and the crew of the ship creates a city called New Los Angeles on the surface. The player assumes the role of one of the survivors who is accepted to an organization that explores the planet. The gameplay mechanics combine features of the previous entry in the series with traits of Monster Hunter series. During the game the player is exploring areas of the planet, completing various tasks and he fights the monsters that inhabit the planet.

A platform game that continues the story of the gunslinger named Clive. After saving the daughter of Mayor Johnson, the protagonist returns to his hometown, which in the meantime was attacked by bandits. Without thinking too much, Clive begins chasing the leader of the villains, as capturing him is the only way to save his home. The chase takes place across half of the world, enabling the Swedish studio Hörberg Productions to make campaign levels more varied. Levels are filled with obstacles and enemies to defeat. Among the latter there are powerful bosses. During the journey the gunman is accompanied by friends with different abilities. All of this makes the game more interesting than its predecessor. The visuals are more impressive as well – two-dimensional levels are intertwined with 3D sequences that take advantage of the possibilities offered by 3DS console. The game works in constant 50 frames per second.

Another game by Tomorrow Corporation, combining the mechanics of logic games with a rather serious topic (rarely occurs in the genre) and unique visuals. The player assumes the role of a corporate worker who begins their long way to the top, having taken up the lowest job position on the 1st floor. Each in-game level represents a year of work in the corporation, when the protagonist has to complete a certain task from their superior. To achieve this however, the player has to automatize certain actions using simple in-game programming. The tasks require the player to solve puzzles with numbers on particular pieces, as well as create the right combinations in order to reach the score needed. Human Resource Machine stands out both with an original concept, but also its surrealist visuals and story, which delivers a satire on the modern, corporate world.

A new edition of the franchise's classic installment. Along with Pokemon Gold, the game constitutes the so-called second generation of the main video game series. The original version had its debut in Japan in 1999, and was released for Game Boy Color. More than fifteen years later, the game returns, coming out for Nintendo 3DS. Pokemon Silver is set in a fictional world inhabited by the titular creatures. The player takes on the role of a beginner Pokemon trainer. Their goals are to catch all the species of monsters and to defeat the best trainers. Compared with the first generation, the game introduces a lot of novelties, such as a new region (completely new Pokemon can be found here), a day-night cycle, additional items, as well as Pokemon breeding mechanics. The core of the experience remained unchanged however, as the player explores the game world viewed from above, talks to NPCs, catches new Pokemon and competes against the encountered trainers. All of this is conveyed by 16-bit visuals complemented by music composed by Jun'ichi Masuda. Contrary to the original version, the edition for 3DS gives an opportunity to both play and exchange with others via the local wireless network. Additionally, the game supports the PokeBank application, so the player can transfer their subordinates to new installments of the series.

Similarly as in the original title, published by Nintendo in 2015, the gameplay consists of creating two-dimensional platform game levels. Super Mario Maker 3DS, similarly as its predecessor, enables the player to quickly test created levels in order to easily add required improvements. However, unfinished work can be shared with other players only locally. Each feature of the game was adapted to two graphics styles – the original one that references the 8-bit Super Mario Bros and the style of Super Mario Bros. U. The game also supports amiibo figurines thanks to which the player can unlock new skins for the protagonist.

The game's visuals were also improved. All textures are now in high resolution, but we can still switch back to the retro-stylized pixel-art visuals if we want to. Though some things were changed and improved, the core of gameplay remains the same. The Versus mode allows us to fight with other players or against A.I. Like in every game from the series, gameplay focuses on turn-based battles where we control a small group of heroes. There are many of them available for recruitment, but only a handful can be used on the battlefield. Aside from well known boxes with various power-ups, racing tracks are filled with coins known from Super Mario Kart. One of the most important innovations are anti-gravity races, during which we can drive on walls and even ceilings. This tactical RPG is the eleventh entry in the acclaimed Fire Emblem series, and the first to be developed for Nintendo 3DS. In contrast to the previous installments in the series, the game is not a remake but an entirely new chapter in the history of the franchise. The story takes place 2000 years after the events of the original Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem Gaiden, focusing on a group of soldiers from the kingdom of Ylisse. The player controls a customized character suffering from amnesia, taken in by the king of the realm and serving him by defending the kingdom from monsters and forces of the hostile nation of Plegia. The gameplay, like in the previous titles in the series, focuses on tactical movement of characters across battlefield and fighting enemy units. Other features include the ability to build relationships between the characters to improve their abilities, adjustable difficulty levels, a mode that disables permanent death of characters, and multiple camera perspectives in battle.
