The players are taken to 1940s, assuming control of a World War I veteran who suddenly wakes up in an abandoned part of the somber facility in which he has been placed while awaiting a heart surgery. He quickly discovers that the surgery was completed, replacing his heart with an artificial device of an unknown origin.

We observe the game from a first-person perspective.

Technology in this world is so advanced that it is now possible to construct gigantic cannons that can launch manned capsules to other planets.

Unfortunately, enemy factions want to use her powers to conquer the magical society.

A remake of Dear Esther, a popular narrative exploration game from 2012 that started a whole new genre – the so-called walking simulators. It was developed by the independent studio The Chinese Room. Contrary to the base version of the game that was powered by the Source engine and released only on personal computers, this edition is powered by the Unity technology. This enabled the developers to release their game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.

The hints it drops lead the hero to eerie places which reflect his own memories distorted by an unknown, evil force. The action is presented from the first-person perspective.

The work of Introversion Software’s team delivered a title set in a system of underground caves and corridors, wrapped in utter darkness. With no flashlights or torches of any kind, we can only navigate using laser-scanning system LIDAR, which displays our surroundings as three-dimensional shapes formed by sparkling points.

The story is focused on two figures: a boy living in the modern, surrealistic world, and a medieval knight traveling across a magical land. Both storylines are tightly interconnected and are being gradually brought together as the game progresses. The mechanics combine elements of typical point-and-click adventure games with classic arcade elements.
