A tactical war game developed by Game-Labs. Ultimate General: Civil War is set during the titular American Civil War, and the player can take part in more than 50 historical battles - the list features both small skirmishes and battles that lasted for days - those require hundreds of square kilometers of virtual space. The player has full control of their armies and subsequent victories result in their reputation growing, which allows the player to obtain new kinds of units, as well as divisions and brigades. Soldiers gain experience in combat, which makes them gradually more effective in battle. What is characteristic about this game, is its high level of realism - different weapons in the game represent their real-life equivalents from the period. Furthermore, analyzing the topography of terrain accurately and making use of advanced combat tactics is the key to success. Apart from the single player campaign, the game offers a special mode, which allows the player to play a particular battle. It is also worth noticing, that Ultimate General: Civil War comes with a set of options allowing the player to adjust the level of the game's complexity to one's individual preferences.

An online shooter taking place during the American Civil War. The game was developed by Campfire Games, for which War of Rights is the debut project. The developers introduced a number of historic campaigns that allow us to choose a side, as well as our duties on the battlefield – we can assume the role of a frontline soldier, or a general who controls the whole battle from the headquarters. The player who chooses the role of a commander stays in the base and makes strategic decisions that have to go through the whole chain of command in real time until they reach the captains of the individual regiments. Frontline commanders can either comply and execute the order, or incite a mutiny and act as they see fit. The battles take place in authentic locations, while soldiers of both Union and Confederacy use the same weapons and wear the same uniforms that were used during the conflict.

A turn-based strategy game developed by Western Civilization Software. As the title suggests, the game focuses on the American Civil War, during which brothers often had to turn against each other when the Confederate States declared war upon the northern states, devastating the United States of America. The action of this game is set at the initial stages of the American Civil War, allowing players to participate in the events such as the First Battle of Bull Run, the Battle of Wilson's Creek (1861), the Battle of Mill Springs and the Battle of Williamsburg (1862). Apart from the large campaigns, the game delivers a number of smaller scenarios, including the hypothetical ones presenting an alternative course of events. Battles take place on huge maps covering the area of 50 square miles, divided into 75-yard hexagons. A single turn corresponds to 24 hours in real time. Brother against Brother: The Drawing of the Sword builds on realism – regiments have their unique skills that made them famous during the Civil War. Apart from the units’ stats and player’s tactical decisions, the battle is affected by the amount of supplies, changing weather conditions, and the smoke suspended over the battlefield.

The second installment in the series of marine strategy games developed by Totem Games. After a series of spin-offs, the developers decided to return to the series’ roots, setting the action during the American Civil War. The plot of the game evokes a rather obscure episode of the war, the Battle of Mobile Bay. The authors decided to employ a “what-if” scenario, in which Confederacy has successfully reached out to Austrian government in an attempt to strengthen their navy. The deal went through, and the Union forces are met with a formidable enemy. Ironclads 2: American Civil War uses a similar gameplay model to the one found in the Total War series – turn-based planning on a strategic map with real-time clashes supported by an active pause. The game offers challenges such as hunting ships, hiding in ports while awaiting for supplies, blocking trade routes, and open sea battles. As per series’ tradition, the authors have prepared faithful recreations of the ships of the era, including their technical parameters and armament.

The content consists of seven new scenarios of varying degrees of complexity (from single battles to several-year campaigns throughout the United States), each of which can be played out on both the Union's and the Confederations' side. In order for enlargement to work, it is necessary to have a "stand".

A turn-based recreation of the battle of Gettysburg, one of the most important and bloody battles of the American Civil War. Gettysburg: The Tide Turns offers a number of scenarios, building an extensive campaign which allows the players to control the forces of the North, as well as the Confederacy. Our job is to conduct turn-based battles on the hexagonal grid covering the maps. The battles are large in scale, with the player controlling whole divisions of troops. The game contains an interesting feature – randomized turns. The order of turns is not fixed, while the engine decides which of the units are capable of making a move in the given turn. The Tide Turns is a highly complex title, characterized by historical consistency. The battles employ real units, while the course of each encounter is influenced by landform or soldiers’ morale.

A turn-based strategy game set during the American Civil War, developed by Gary Grigsby and his studio 2BY3 games. War Between the Sates take place from 1861 to 1865, and you play as the leader of either the Union or the Confederacy, trying to gain economic and military advantage over your enemy. The gameplay takes place on a 2D map, which you use to plan your moves and order your troops around. You also need to regularly check the statistics regarding your territories or armament, and you defend the taken areas by building fortifications. An important factor is choosing the right generals from about a thousand of authentic historical figures, whose charisma might turn the tide of many a battle. They can strongly influence e.g. initiative, agility and the offensive and defensive abilities of the troops.
