Quake II (PS1)

The sequel to the groundbreaking first-person shooter by id Software that, just like its predecessor released the year before, set new visual standards thanks to the enhanced idTech 2 engine. The action of Quake II takes place in the distant future where humanity established contact with a biomechanical race of the technologically advanced Stroggs. When it turned out that the alien secretly plan to conquer Earth, a special space marine unit was sent into action. They were completely crushed, though, and the player assumes the role of the sole survivor on whom the further fate of the humanity depends. Compared to the original, Quake II is characterized by a significantly richer plot and modified weapon arsenal. The levels were also greatly expanded, following different stylistics than in the previous game. Multiplayer remains the title’s strength. In Quake II, up to 16 players can play in several varied game modes.

Tomb Raider (1996) (PS1)

A TPP action game with platformer elements, in which we play as the brave and attractive female archaeologist Lara Croft. Our protagonist sets out in search of a mystical artifact named Scion, which lies inside the tomb of Qualopec, located deep in the Peruvian jungle. After her guide dies at the very beginning of the journey, Lara is forced to face all the dangers waiting within ancient structures, tunnels, and catacombs on her own. And this is just the beginning of her adventure, which will lead her from ancient Rome, through Egyptian pyramids, and to several other exotic places. Tomb Raider’s gameplay skillfully combines the elements of an adventure game with the features of a platformer (e.g. climbing rock shelves) and action sequences, during which you will be facing wild animals and armed humans.
Metal Gear Solid (PS1)

A tactical action game with stealth features, developed by Konami, as well as continuation of the Metal Gear series, which began over a decade earlier on 8-bit MXS computers. The story takes place in the not-so-far future and tells about an attack of a dangerous terrorist organization on a secret military base in Alaska. Players take role of Snake, the special forces soldier known from previous titles, whose objective is to infiltrate the base, save the hostages and stop the terrorists, who threaten to launch nuclear missile. Unlike its predecessors, Metal Gear Solid has been created in full 3D, though the game premises remained unchanged. Gameplay focuses on stealth elements: acting in secrecy and avoiding guards, cameras, and direct confrontation. Nonetheless, the game doesn't lack action sequence, where the protagonists makes use of a vast arsenal of weapons and useful gadgets.
Vigilante 8 (PS1)

An action car game maintained in the style referring to the American culture of the 70s of the 20th century. The production tells the story of a conflict between two groups of drivers and allows you to take part in spectacular battles with various vehicles on large maps.
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (PS1)

Skradanka set in feudal Japan with a touch of fantasy. The production offers ten different missions in which the player takes on the role of a warrior or ninja warrior and, by means of various equipment such as rope launchers or shurikens, tries to silently infiltrate locations and eliminate selected targets. Before each task it is possible to choose the equipment that will be taken on the mission, but failure makes the equipment forfeited and should be retrieved from scratch.

Heart of Darkness (PS1)

A climatic platform game featuring logical puzzles, developed by the French Amazing Studio led by Eric Chahi - the creator of Another World. In Heart of Darkness, we play as a boy named Andy, whose dog Whisky is kidnapped by Forces of Darkness during an eclipse. Despite the dangers, the protagonist sets out to rescue his pet, equipped with self-made plasma weapon and vehicle. In terms of game mechanics, the title is a classic platform game, with the hero jumping, running, swimming and – naturally – fighting various enemies: from spiders, worms, and shadows, up to the Lord of Darkness himself. But Andy won’t be alone during his journey, as he can rely on the assistance of the strange flying creatures, which resisted the darkness. Another ally of our hero is magical energy, which allows him to use nearby trees in different ways.

Crusaders of Might and Magic (PS1)

We play as a young warrior named Drake who seeks revenge for the slaughter that took place in his home village in the past. After years spent on training and exercising, he decides to face the force that ravages the country - Legion of the Fallen, led by the demonic Necros who sold his soul for magical powers. During our adventures we explore new locations and fight with the encountered enemies. We have various weapons at our disposal and thirty powerful spells. Like in most RPGs, our character levels up and improves their skills. The game features full-3D visuals.

An action game in which the main character is given a voice and image by the actor Bruce Willis. The production story takes place in a distant future, on a cosmic colony, where the evil pastor created a cult condemning science and preaching an imminent apocalypse; in fact, he himself intends to bring the world to an end. This can only be prevented by his former co-worker, in whom the player plays. The production is distinguished by an interesting control, in which the left analog knob is responsible for movement, while the right one is used for targeting and shooting.
Duke Nukem 3D (PS1)

Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft (PS1)

The third installment in a popular series of action-adventure games developed by Core Design and following the story of the fearless Lara Croft - an archeologist searching for legendary artifacts all around the world. In Tomb Raider III, the protagonist tries to find four mysterious artifacts carved from an ancient meteorite. In so doing, she visits five different locations, including a jungle in India, islands in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean, dark rooftops of London, an underground secret base known as Area 51 and the frosty Antarctica. Interestingly, the game is non-linear to a specific extent, for the player sets the order of visiting particular locations, excluding the first and one which comes the last. The next installment is based on the best mechanics of the predecessors, although several improvements were made. These include the addition of new movements, previously unavailable vehicles and weapons, as well as the increase in the number of different enemy types.
Doom (1993) (PS1)

A first-person shooter set in a science fiction realm, created by id Software studio, previously known mainly for the arcade series Commander Keen and the groundbreaking Wolfenstein 3D. Action of Doom takes place in the near future, and players play the part of a cosmic Marine who, for insubordination, is sent to UAC corporation's secret research facility on Mars. When, in the fallout of an interdimensional gate experiment, the base gets overrun by bloodthirsty monsters from outer space, we have to provide reconnaissance and, of course, eliminate all potential threat. In each of nearly 30 levels of the game the player's task is to find an exit, the keys to open it, and to eliminate all encountered monsters using a wide arsenal of both classic and futuristic weapons. The game features a large dose of brutality, claustrophobic atmosphere, and three-dimensional graphic design.
