Supraland Description
Supraland is an action adventure game featuring elements and mechanics known from such series as The Legend of Zelda, Mario, Portal or Metroid. The game bets on free roam gameplay, which forces the players to think. The title can also boast an original graphic design. The game was developed by the independent studio Supra Games (also known for the unusual football game Supraball). Assemble Entertainment (Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry, Hanse - The Hanseatic League) has taken on the role of the publisher.
Plot
Supraland takes place in a relatively small garden created by a boy near his house. The player takes on the role of a plasticine man made by the child - but from the perspective of our hero the place seems to be a great land, full of dangers and secrets to be discovered.
Mechanics
In Supraland we observe the action from first-person perspective. The game is about exploring the three-dimensional environment, solving puzzles (often unique - ideas used in them are not repeated too often) and fighting enemies. As the game progresses, our hero gains new skills, thanks to which he is able to reach other locations. Most of the abilities can be used in more than one way, and some of the are completely optional - they are not required to complete the game.
The game is characterized by simplicity - we will not find dozens of stats windows and extensive options for character progression. The game also focuses on high interactivity of the environment - it lacks objects that exist only for decoration. Most of the things we come across can be used in some way. This is one of the reasons why we won't find a minimap in this production - the creators wanted the players to watch the game world carefully and not focus on just one corner of the screen and the tags displayed in it.
Game modes
Supraland can only be played solo. The creators did not prepare any multiplayer mode. The mainstay of the game is an extensive single player campaign.
Technical aspects
Supraland's three-dimensional visuals looks very good. Locations are designed with great ingenuity and attention to detail, and lighting and shading systems make a good impression. A positive aspect of the graphics is also the characteristic artistic style - it is full of expressive colors, very funny and natching the unusual atmosphere of the game.
