A first-person adventure game, in some ways similar to the concept of What Remains of Edith Finch. The Berlin Apartment tells the stories of the former tenants of the titular apartment. They are set in different eras and vary in terms of atmosphere and mechanics.
btf games is a German development studio operating under the umbrella of the company bildundtonfabrik (also known as btf). In the portfolio of this team, we can find the warmly received Truberbrook, an adventure action game titled Constance, as well as the lesser-known project Dino Dino. The Berlin Apartment described here is one of their works. It was created in the form of an adventure game that may evoke associations with the bestselling What Remains of Edith Finch.
In The Berlin Apartment, events are viewed from a first-person perspective (FPP). The gameplay takes place entirely in the titular apartment. The main characters of this production are a girl named Dilara and her father Malik, who is renovating a historic apartment in Berlin.
The primary element of the gameplay is exploring the apartment and searching for items left by its former tenants. Each of these items serves as a kind of "gateway" to their memories, in which we can directly participate. In this way, we not only see how the apartment has changed over the ages but also learn about the fates of its previous residents, accompanying them in greetings and farewells, as well as other moments full of joy, sadness, or horror. The individual stories are varied in terms of atmosphere and mechanics.
The graphic design of The Berlin Apartment is maintained in a comic book style.

Game Ratings for The Berlin Apartment Video Game.
Checkpoint Gaming: 6 / 10
The Berlin Apartment is certainly a nice tribute to the history of the titular city. With gorgeous scenery evolving through time that tells the tales of its residents, the apartment is a delight to explore. However, a more intriguing main narrative or engaging gameplay mechanics would’ve been a massive boon for the game. A gorgeous art style and heartwarming sentimentality make The Berlin Apartment an enjoyable experience, albeit one that struggles to stand against the genre’s best.
Loot Level Chill: 8.5 / 10 by Kieran Singh
The Berlin Apartment tells some wonderful little stories that’ll make you feel emotions from both ends of the spectrum, and it gives a heartfelt glimpse into life in Berlin at key moments in its history.
So Many Games: 4.5 / 5 by Christopher Lannoo
There are few places that can match the modern history of a city like Berlin. The past century has seen regimes rise and fall in a massive way, due to which we often forget that the city was inhabited by regular people like ourselves. These are stories of victims, of those who refused to let these huge events stop their lives, of survivors. They are also tales of the beauty of the human spirit. The Berlin Apartment is a beautiful testimony to the perseverance of the people of Berlin and to human kindness itself.
