An action platformer metroidvania. The Last Faith stars Eric, traversing a dangerous gothic city, trying to learn the truth about an ancient prophecy and the corruption consuming the land.
The Last Faith is an indie action platformer metroidvania. It was developed by Kumi Souls Games and crowdfunded on Kickstarter.
The Last Faith is set in a dark fantasy world, in the gothic city of Mythringal, the capital of a mighty kingdom. The city suffered a devastating civil war and a plague that almost destroyed it. The reigning religious cult has left the inhabitants behind to their fate, though not all is yet lost. The protagonist, amnesiac Eric, starts searching for answers regarding an ancient prophecy and gets involved in a massive intrigue, gradually learning the truth about the corruption consuming the world.
The Last Faith is a side-scroller. The player traverses vast, diverse areas, ranging from mighty citadels, palaces and temples to dark dungeons. The areas are interconnected, forming a maze-like world map, access to some of them being barred until we acquire specific abilities or equipment. While exploring, we'll need to solve environmental puzzles and face monsters of all sorts - walking ones, flying ones, crawling ones. The enemies range from common mooks to much more powerful bosses, who are larger, stronger and more resilient.
Combat is a major part of the game. We must be quick, agile, time our dodges and counters, making good use of Eric's equipment and abilities. The protagonist wields melee weapons and firearms (used to stagger enemies), as well as powerful magic. Our gear can also be enhanced by infusing it with elemental powers (such as Diamond Dust, which adds a brief freeze effect to our attacks).
The Last Faith features high-quality pixel art visuals and a dark color palette. The gothic locations and nightmarish enemies are all very appealing.

Game Ratings for The Last Faith Video Game.
GameCrate: 7 / 10 by Matt Berry
I really think that if the developers continue to work on The Last Faith and fix some of the issues I mentioned earlier with the button layouts, weapon glitches, and other weird bugs they can get the game up to a much higher quality. I still found it to be good fun overall even though it’s not really bringing anything new to the table in the world of Metroidvanias.
GameSpew: 8 / 10 by Richard Seagrave
It’s safe to say that we’ve been bowled over by The Last Faith on the whole. We’ve been lost at times, pouring over the map in the hope of finding a clue as to where we should go next, but it’s rarely dampened our enthusiasm to play. And thanks to many weapons, skills and other items to discover, time spent exploring never feels wasted anyway. While this is a game that doesn’t really offer anything original or ground breaking, then, it remains engaging nonetheless.
PC Invasion: 5 / 10 by Leo Gillick
The Last Faith fails to make waves in a market already far too saturated to make space for something that doesn't bring innovation. Beautiful design, both in sound and scene, is let down by predictable gameplay.
