Wartales: The Fief is the sixth DLC for the tactical RPG Wartales from the indie studio Shiro Games. This expansion makes part of the gameplay resemble a strategic simulator of medieval society.

New features in the expansion

The add-on offers a system that allows our company of mercenaries to take over the fief and manage it for a certain period of time. In The Fief we enact local laws, invest in roads and buildings, set production goals, and then try to keep up with the needs of society, which becomes increasingly demanding as weeks go by.

This feature is not located in a separate menu, but is linked to the rest mechanics, which speeds up the passage of time in Wartales. Every time the team breaks camp, the clock moves forward, and the fief either meets the needs or it doesn't. Food, safety, education, and comfort become regular issues, and trivializing them leads to rebellion.
