God of War: How to destroy rocks blocking the passage?

In this chapter of our guide, you will learn how to destroy some of the rocks that block certain passages in God of War. By getting rid of the rocks, you can, for example, get to new treasures and other secrets.

1. Not all rocks can be destroyed in the game - only those with yellow deposits. You will usually find them on islands, but sometimes you will also come across them during your main missions.
2. In order to destroy this type of rock, you have to throw an axe into a bomb. The explosion will destroy the stones and reveal the access to e.g. hidden chests.
3. Sometimes the bombs are hung over the rocks and you have to throw them down with the help of Leviathan.
4. Some bombs are very cleverly hidden - look at the screenshot above, to get to the bomb, you have to go to the stone platform above. Only from there will you be able to press the axe at the right angle and unlock the red chest.
5. It is definitely worth looking for the rocks that can be destroyed - they usually hide a secret passage, or chests with valuable equipment.
