God of War: Walkthrough tips & guide

In this chapter you'll find some information that is worth checking before you start your adventure with God of War. Our solution covers all main and side quests as well as side activities and works.

The following chapters contain walkthroughs for the main story line; lists of Nornir chests and ways of reaching the red chests.

1. The main story line. These chapters can help you deal with the challenges of the main story line. Our walkthrough contains descriptions of all missions, offers video solutions to puzzles and has tactics for the more challenging fights.
2. Secrets and collectibles. During the campaign you reach new lands and visit the vast terrains of Midgard. The game contains a tremendous number of hidden treasures, challenges and collectibles - check a dedicated page to each of the lands to learn about the locations of all secrets. There, you can find a list of things to unlock, information on where to find them, and watch helpful videos!

Nornir chests contain items that can permanently increase your health and rage.

1. Nornir chests. The walkthroughs for the mission don't contain information about collectibles but Nornir chests are the exception - thanks to the guide you can easily reach these upgrades that will permanently increase your health and rage.
2. Upgrades and character progression. Try to complete side missions as you are progressing through the game and exploring the world. You can find a lot of upgrades and better equipment which will make the fights easier. From time to time the game informs you that "maybe it is time for exploration?" - this means that you should take a break from the main story line and embark on a new adventure.

Many of the locations are visited multiple times - secrets of the hidden chambers can be discovered, e.g. when you are halfway through in the game.

1. Visit previously explored lands. You can go back to the previously visited location to find collectibles or to complete side missions. Overtime, you will get new abilities and unlock access to hidden chests, paths and other secrets. Don't be in a hurry to complete the game in 100%.
2. The game's length. The story line itself takes about 25-30 hours to beat. However, the game will last much longer if you get immersed in the world and try to find all collectibles etc.
3. Difficulty level. This guide is based on the default difficulty level - "Balanced experience". Your current difficulty level can be changed at any moment in the game's options (excluding the last, most difficult, level). Watch out - higher difficulty levels can be really tough, and the optional boss fights challenging!

Important - we recommend opening the chapter with secrets from a given location in a separate browser tab if you care about unlocking all secrets (chests, Odin's Ravens etc.). These chapters contain a list of, e.g. collectibles that can be found in a given region.
