God of War: How to open entangled chests?

This page of the God of War guide explains how to open entangled chests found throughout the game. Roots, or rather vines, are initially "indestructible" and can prevent you from unlocking treasure hidden in a chest.

Entangled chests and passageways - how to destroy the vines?

1. It is necessary to acquire a second weapon, which is the Blades of Chaos. Once they have been obtained, you can get close to your roots and use your weapon to destroy them. The attack is so powerful that it will burn down the obstacle.
2. The weapon will be unlocked during "The Sickness" mission. You need to visit Helheim to get the ingredient required to cure Atreus. After completing this task, you can freely wander the world and discover many secrets.
3. Behind the roots there are mainly hidden chests and other additional finds in the game. Inside you will find valuable equipment that will make it easier for you to continue playing.
