This page of the guide to LEGO Skywalker Saga contains a walkthrough of the Solo in the Snow (Hoth and Cold) level from Episode 5 - Luke's quest on Hoth.
On this page of the LEGO Skywalker Saga game guide, you can find the first part of the Episode 5 walkthrough (The Empire Strikes Back), namely the Hoth and Cold level and the related minor quests. From the walkthrough, you will learn how to get to the 3 Signal Towers, how to climb up the towers, position the antennas, and where to go looking for Luke.
Note - The walkthrough assumes you're playing through episode 5 in Story Mode. It doesn't include secrets or collectibles described on separate pages of the guide. We suggest completing the Story Mode of every episode first before replaying them in Free Play.

Where's Luke
You will start the fifth episode in the Echo Base controlling the C-3PO and R2-D2 droids. Exploring the snowy base is completely optional.
To advance in the story, you have to reach the command center and stand in the blue circle to trigger the scene of Han Solo taking part in the deliberation. This will start the Hoth and Cold level.
Hoth and Cold - challenges
This level features 3 challenges:
- Avoid the Droid! - Shoot five Probe Droids (the example on the picture) out of the air without them spotting you. It is a simple challenge because Probe Droids have a very limited field of view, which is also marked by the game. It is enough to aim at each Probe Droid from a long distance and fire at it until you destroy it.
- Not a Probe-lem - You have to shoot 1 Probe Droid out of the air without them spotting you. This is a simpler version of the previous challenge.
- Stylish Way Down - You have to find and use all 5 zip lines. An example of the zip line is shown in picture 1, and you will reach three of them by climbing the towers as you progress through the mission.
- The other two wires require further exploration. The map with the places to slide down zip lines is presented in picture 2. Complete this challenge before entering the cave after climbing all 3 towers.
Hoth and Cold - northern Signal Tower
Your main objective in this stage is to activate 3 Signal Towers in order to determine the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker. The towers are marked on the map and you can reach them in any order.
The north tower is initially inaccessible due to the raised drawbridge. Start by dealing with the Probe Droid patrolling the area - it's best to shoot at him from a distance. Pull the lever and then board the damaged ship. You have to fire at the ice that supports the nearest part of the drawbridge.
You have to still lower the second part of the bridge. Place Han Solo in the place shown in the picture and aim at the purple target. The main character will automatically find and shoot at the weak point, lowering the rest of the drawbridge.
You need to get rid of the flying droid that has appeared. You can't climb the tower right away. Destroy the objects at the base of the tower so that you can move the chest shown in the picture above. Now you can climb it.
This activity involves jumping to higher and higher edges - some of them may move sideways. In such situations, it is enough to wait until they move back to the position that let you reach them.
After getting to the top of the tower, you have to interact with the console to rotate the large antenna. Use the sound signals and the color change of the beam to determine the correct position - the antenna must be facing the sky (picture above).
You can zip off the tower (it is the 1st of 5 zip lines related to the Stylish Way Down challenge).
Hoth and Cold - southern Signal Tower
The way to the south tower is blocked and you need to clear it first. To do this, reach the large turret shown in picture 1, which is located a short distance to the west of the tower.
Use it to get rid of obstacles (picture 2). They are piles of snow marked with little red squares.
You can now reach the south tower. The game allows you to climb right away, but you have to remember about the moving elements and wait for them to stop in the right place or you can move to the sides.
Use the console as before and position the second antenna, which has to be turned towards the sky.
Hoth and Cold - eastern signal tower and end of the mission
There is still the eastern tower to reach - it is located in the facility surrounded by a high wall. Get rid of the Probe Droid and pull the lever to open the great gate.
Climb the stairs. On your way, you will find an object to push shown in the picture 1. Drop it downstairs and build a ladder of it.
Use the lever again, this time to close the large gate. Go back upstairs using the ladder. Closing the gate will allow you to run over it (picture 2).
You will reach the last, eastern Signal Tower. A Probe Droid will appear to steal the energy source. Look around for bouncing blocks. You can use them to build one of two objects:
- Magnet - It can pull the droid towards you.
- Turret - It can shoot at the Probe Droid.
Regardless of the option you choose, you will recover the energy source. Place it in the slot at the base of the tower (picture above).
You can now climb the last tower, the same way as in the previous ones. The next steps are also the same - use the console and position the antenna to face the right direction.
Correctly positioning the antennas from all 3 towers will allow you to add Luke's location to the map. The destination is the ice cave. After watching the first cutscene, go inside to trigger a cutscene that ends the level.
