My Time at Sandrock: Learning to Ride - walkthrough

This page contains a walkthrough of the Learning to Ride side quest, during which Elsie will teach you how to get around on horseback and even let you rent a horse for free for a week.

Quest time limit: 18 hours

Reward: 300 EXP, 10 Relationship with Elsie

Go to the Yakmel Ranch

The quest will begin when you receive a letter from Elsie inviting you to learn how to ride a horse. Once you've read the letter, head to the Wandering Y Ranch, just east of The Blue Moon Saloon, then talk to Elsie.

Follow Elsie

The girl will introduce you to her father Cooper, who runs the Yakmel Ranch. You will get the option to rent either a horse or a Yakmel for free for a week. We recommend the first option, since the horse is almost twice as fast as its alternative.

Walk up to the animal to mount it, then follow Elsie. You need to reach a specific point in the desert located north of the stable. The girl will lead you to the exact spot.

Once you arrive, Elsie will thank you for riding with her and she will explain that you can rent a mount from Cooper's when the free week ends. This marks the end of the quest.
