One of the most important releases fueling the Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions library in the first half of August debuts today. We're talking about a return to the roots of the Assassin's Creed series.
The day before yesterday, we learned about the list of games that will be added to the Xbox and PC Game Pass subscription libraries, and yesterday, half of them became available. Today, however, Microsoft is handing over to us one of the most important of these titles, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is a spin-off of the series set in 9th-century Baghdad, with Basim Ibn Ishaq from Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla as the main character. The game is smaller in size compared to its predecessor and puts more emphasis on sneaking behind enemies and their assassination. It also limited the RPG elements in it.
All of this made Assassin's Creed: Mirage advertised as a return to the roots of the series before its release. In the end, the whole operation can be deemed successful, as Ubisoft Bordeaux's creation has "mostly positive" ratings on Steam and an average score on Metacritic between 76-77/100 (depending on the platform). However, our reviewer was harsher on the discussed game, giving it 6.5/10.
