Many players report Unknown Error while playing BF6, mostly during matchmaking. Let's look at this technical issue.
Battlefield 6 is definitely one of the most anticipated games of this year. So, hundreds of thousands of people were waiting for its Beta that takes place this weekend. Sadly, Early Access, which started a couple of hours ago, has some issues. It all started with a long queue, which is solved to extent. However, some players experience crashes or just can’t play (but they should be able to). There is one more issue, even if you have not encountered / have not been discouraged by the above – Unknown Error.
As of now there is no solid evidence that can tell us what causes Unknown Error. All we know is that it takes place around 2 minutes after starting matchmaking. Sadly, EA Battlefield 6 FAQ with error codes is not helpful either, explaining only that it is some kind of general error.
These messages are more general about something going wrong in the game, but don’t specify what.
The good news is that developers know that there is something wrong with matchmaking. Some time ago we have written about “Playlist Lock issue,” which prevents players from finding a match, too (in a little different way, though). There is a chance that while fixing one, both of the bugs will be solved at the same time.
What can you do to fix it? My guess it that the same thing that developers advice in the case of “Playlist Lock issue” might help – restarting BF6 client. Keep in mind though that you will have to wait in the queue once again. The linked guide also recommends checking files integrity, updating the game and restarting the device. Can’t hurt to try these methods.
At this point there is not much we can do but report such issues and hope that they will be fixed before the end of the Beta. The number of players who experience it gives hope that it will be solved sooner rather than later. Let’s remember that it is Early Access, after all. Good luck.
