AC: Shadows creative director confirms: after 2,000 years, Odyssey's protagonist is still alive and „lurking in the shadows”

We won't necessarily see a certain long-lived character in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, but the game's creative director has confirmed that she is „very much alive” in the new installment.

The well-known (and beloved) protagonist of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is still alive during the time in which AC: Shadows takes place.

WARNING: The following text contains minor spoilers from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and Assassin's Creed: Shadows. You are reading at your own responsibility!

Jonathan Dumont, the creative director of both these games, confirmed this in an interview with Game Rant. The Canadian hinted that Kassandra is still "very much alive" and "lurking in the shadows somewhere in the world."

Players aren't at all surprised by this information. The storylines of Odyssey and Shadows are separated by about 2,000 years, which theoretically should eliminate such a possibility. The catch is that the same could be thought in the case of AC: Valhalla, and yet Eivor met Kassandra. Besides, if you have finished Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Kassandra's longevity shouldn't surprise you. Some fans have long been wondering about the possibility of her appearing in an installment set in 16th-century Japan.

Of course, Dumont's statement can also be read as a kind of teaser. Perhaps Kassandra will eventually emerge from the "shadow," even if - as in Valhalla - in a quest added after the release of Shadows. Or in one of the side missions. On the other hand, we know that some of them will concentrate on character relationships and are intended to be more plot-significant.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will be released on March 20th on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
