It's been just over a month since the last update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was released, so the developers have prepared another extensive patch, which has buffed almost all firearms, introduced improvements in the abilities of the Assault class, and fixed many minor glitches.
Reviewing the contents of patch 9.0, changes in the balance of 15 out of 20 firearms in PvE mode stand out. Saber Interactive decided to upgrade the weapon archetypes to make them more appealing to players.
Thus, for example, the relic Melta Gathalamor Crusade rifle (a variant of the Melta weapon) has an increased range (from 3 to 5 meters), and the relic Ophelian Liberation pistol (Bolt type) from now on deals more damage (1.9 points instead of 1.8 points). You can find a full list of balance changes in the developer's announcement.
Five Assault class skills were also reworked. These are perks named: Winged Fury, Defense Mechanism, Act of Attrition, Smiting Angel, and Hammer of Wrath. It's worth mentioning that the first ability listed isn't working properly after the changes and will be fixed in the next update.
Besides the above improvements, the shop has been balanced in siege mode, and Datavault has gained new trials, a refreshed reward screen, as well as an entry about Trygon in the Tyranids page. There were also minor improvements to melee weapons, gameplay, PVP mode, and bug fixes.
With the release of the 9.0 update, Saber Interactive announced a July event where players can earn 50% more experience points in the siege. The event will start on July 29 at 4:00 am PT and will end on August 5 at the same time.
Until August 4, 2025, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is discounted on Steam in all editions (Standard, Gold, and Ultra). For the standard edition, you need to pay $32.99 (instead of 60 bucks).
