While it may have seemed that the "Insomnia" event marks the end of free games during the GOG's summer sale, that was not the case. Today at 3 p.m. CET, the fifth title in the summer sale was made available (the previous ones were Sunblaze, Sigma Theory: Global Cold War, Eschalon: Book II and Hell Division).

This time you can grab Ancient Enemy - released in 2020, an RPG with card game elements, which is a kind of combination of Darkest Dungeon and Slay the Spire. You can pick up the title until June 29 (Thursday), by clicking on the button below.

Ancient Enemy for Free on GOG

Action of Ancient Enemy takes place in a dark fantasy world overrun by the forces of evil. The nameless protagonist, whom we play, travels through this land, trying to regain his full strength in order to face his nemesis for a second time.

During the game, we collect increasingly powerful cards, which we then use in turn-based battles. They are linked to various spells - both offensive and defensive - and playing them to some extent resembles classic solitaire. An essential element of Ancient Enemy is also making decisions that affect the game's plot.

It is worth adding that the discussed game by Grey Alien Games has received very favorable reviews from players on Steam. Admittedly, there are not many of them - just over 400 - but the positive ones account for as much as 91%.
