Unsurprisingly Dread Hunger has become a big hit on Steam. The online survival game debuted modestly, but is gaining popularity and selling better and better with every week.
The game is focused on multiplayer mode, in which eight players play as members of the crew of a 19th-century ship, which ventures through unexplored regions of the Arctic.
The game focuses on typical survivalist elements, forcing the player to face both the forces of nature and aggressive animals. To survive, players may even resort to cannibalism. The situation is complicated by the fact that two members of the crew are traitors whose goal is to lead to the failure of the entire expedition.
Most games perform best right after their release. Dread Hunger is an exception to this rule. Practically every week the game sets new activity records. and yesterday's one was 37,348.
Day: | Record daily activity: |
January 26, 2022. (release day) | 5 thousand |
January 30, 2022. (first Sunday after launch) | 7.9 thousand. |
6 February 2022. | 15.6 thousand. |
February 13, 2022. | 26.8 thousand. |
February 20, 2022. | 37.3 thousand. |
The game is doing better and better also in terms of sales. Last week, for the first time, it entered the top 10 of the biggest bestsellers on Steam..
This is an even more impressive achievement, since it is a relatively cheap production, and the list is created according to revenue.
