Eleven - that's how many Assassin's Creed games are currently in production. The news was relayed on Insider Gaming by trusted industry journalist Tom Henderson, who is one of the best informed people when it comes to Ubisoft's projects.

Henderson, by the way, confirmed the recent news reported by Kotaku, that the French company has started work on a remake of the highly regarded Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Interestingly, according to Henderson, the new version of Black Flag was said to have been "just approved" by Ubisoft executives.

As reported by Kotaku, the development of the remake of AC IV is to involve the Ubisoft Singapore team, which is also currently working on another pirate game - Skull and Bones.

A sizable list of upcoming "Assassins"

In addition to the relatively well-known Assassin's Creed Mirage (launching in October), as well as officially revealed projects Nexus, Jade, Red, Hexe and Nexus VR, Henderson claims that the following games are in the pipeline:

  • Assassin's Creed Invictus (multiplayer mode);
  • Assassin's Creed Nebula;
  • Assassin's Creed Raid;
  • Assassin's Creed Echoes (multiplayer mode);
  • remake Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

It is worth noting that Tom Henderson omits Assassin's Creed: Infinity - as this project is intended to be a platform bringing together the various installments of the series rather than a game in its own right.

The revealed list of upcoming Assassin's Creed titles shows, therefore, that Ubisoft's management did not mince its words, saying that in its future publishing plans it will put a stronger emphasis on its most recognizable brands.
