According to the latest but not yet officially confirmed reports, Assassin's Creed: Red will be a breath of fresh air for Ubisoft's ossified series.
The Assassin's Creed series haven't made significant changes to their gameplay or graphics for quite some time. However, maybe we will witness the start of something new in the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Red after all. At least that's what Tom Henderson says.
Henderson also supposedly received video footage from Assassin's Creed: Red, leading him to believe that the title will include stealth elements reminiscent of the Splinter Cell series. Players will have the ability to "extinguish torches, hide in tall grass and bushes, and even go prone whenever they please."
Furthermore, the combat in AC: Red is expected to closely resemble that of Valhalla but with a greater level of brutality. Apparently, we are in for a lot more blood and decapitations.
The game will also not lack the development of the settlement, which is another element well-known from Eivor's adventures. Allegedly, players will be able to build an armory and a dojo in their hideout. Moreover, it is said that buildings can be personalized - changing the appearance of the roof, interior layout, etc.
Is the Assassin's Creed series really facing - as Henderson put it - "a gigantic step forward"? We will find out about this after the premiere of AC: Red, which will probably take place later this year. The game is scheduled for release on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
