8 Minutes of Atomic Heart Wonders and Oddities

New gameplay from Atomic Heart reveals a lot of information about the game - its estimated length, difficulty level and the developers' inspiration.

Mundfish and Focus Entertainment don't stop spoiling us - another week, another video from Atomic Heart. This time it is more than eight minutes of gameplay as part of IGN's exclusive preview, in which we can take a look at the various mechanics, enemies and animations (at times quite heavily stuttering). You can watch the said gameplay footage below.

In addition to what you can see, it is important what IGN's editor, who had the privilege to play the early section of the game, tells us. Some of the more interesting information can be found in the list below.

  • In Atomic Heart there will be car driving through open locations.
  • It will take more than 20 hours to complete the story campaign.
  • The game will mix quiet stages, in which we will meet civilians, with action-packed sequences and puzzle sections. The latter are expected to last from 15 minutes to as long as an hour.
  • Atomic Heart will be a relatively challenging game - despite the fact that it will provide several levels of difficulty, a few hits or bullets will be enough to kill the protagonist (and as we could observe in one of the previous gameplays, the bosses' health bars will not be very short).
  • In Atomic Heart there will be no shortage of dark sequences and locations, where the game will resemble a horror movie.
  • The developers were said to be inspired by many iconic titles - such as Half-Life or Portal.

Atomic Heart will be released on February 21, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S. As of the release date, the game will also be available on PC/Xbox Game Pass.
