Battle for The Sinking City Won by Developers; New Version of the Game Inbound
Frogwares has now exclusive rights to The Sinking City. The developers have announced the release of a new version of the game and a DLC.
A major dispute between the developers, Frogwares, and the publisher, Nacon, has been surrounding The Sinking City. In a nutshell, the latter published the work without the developer's permission, did not pay the creators their due money, and as if that were not enough - made changes to the game and put it back on Steam, which was considered piracy. In the end, the dispute was resolved in favor of Frogwares. At the same time, the team announced other good news.
The Sinking City belongs exclusively to Frogwares
The developers of the game have informed, that now The Sinking City belongs exclusively to them, so players no longer have to worry about further battles between the developer and publisher. It was also announced that the game will receive a new version that will offer better optimization and some bug fixes.
Unfortunately, current save files will not be compatible with it, but players will be able to use them by choosing to play the older version of The Sinking City. However, they must reckon with the fact that it will remain active only for a limited time - the gameplay can be completed until February 28, 2024.
The Sinking City will also receive a DLC titled Merciful Madness, which will be compatible only with the new version of the game. However, Frogwares has thought about the players and informed that those who do not want to go through the game from the beginning, will be able to download special save files, which will enable them to start the game right from the first tasks of Merciful Madness.
The Sinking City can still be purchased on Steam for just over 33 hours at a price reduced by as much as 90%.
